CaseCatalyst Won!

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. I did make a decision...at first I was really impressed by Eclipse, not so much when I viewed Case. But I think I wasn't as impressed with Case because I had already seen all the bells and whistles with Eclipse. Knowing that Stenograph will probably be the last one standing in our industry, that Eclipse and Case will always push each other to improve, I figured I couldn't go wrong either way. I chose Case. Also what influenced my decision was… Continue

Eclipse vs. Case Catalyst????

Hi Everyone.....I'm sure all the Eclipse users love their software and so do the Case Catalyst users, but those darn sales people are way too good! They keep confusing me. I am going to upgrade and switch over from Open Stenocat and am in need of some first-hand advice from others who have made the move from one software to another, especially from Stenocat to Eclipse and Case and how easy the transition was, also if you switched from/to Eclipse and Case and the reasons why and your experience,… Continue

Thanks for the referral to Phil. Phil used to do my taxes, but then one year we ended up owing big bucks as well as having to pay big bucks to Phil, so we found someone else.

Also, when we first started w/Phil, we got to see the man himself. But then the next couple of years we got passed off to assistants. For the big bucks, I want the big man himself.

Hi Dawn,
I see that you are a Stenocat user. I currently have the student version. I have also been shown the Case Catalyst and was pretty impressed with it. Have you ever used anything besides the Stenocat?
I am leaning toward the Stenocat because of the price to get in it. I don't want to be sorry later on after starting work. It does seem like a very basic program compared to Case. Can you tell me anything that stands out about Steno for you? Thank you for your time.

Hi, Dawn,

You asked about the word "sylvan." Webster's likes this word and the s-y-l-v-a-n spelling. As an adjective it pertains to the woods or forest; of, relating to, or characteristic of the woods or forest; made, shaped, or formed of woods or trees; abounding in woods, groves, or trees.

Have you decided which CAT software, CC or Eclipse? I'm an Eclipse scopist as well as one of their trainers. I won't confuse you with my biased opinion except to say I was a StenoCat user and found Eclipse more intuitive to learn and use. Good luck. joyce davis

P.S. If you have any questions I can answer for you about Eclipse, from a scopist's point of view, please send them to my e-mail address: jadavis@comcast.net

Hi, Dawn. Thanks for contacting me. Unfortunately, I won't be able to help with the daily, and I'm sure you'll find someone reliable through this site!

Best regards,
