Hi all,

The other day I had an attorney ask me to certify 3 questions. I'm sure it's not that hard, I've just never had to do this. Can anyone tell me how I go about certifying a question? Thanks!!

When the lawyer says to certify the question on the record, type the testimony and any colloquy in the transcript, just like you would normally do.

Then the certified question should be listed in the Index/Contents page.

Usually, the lawyers want to have it certified, so that they can argue it later before a judge.

That's the way they do it in my neck of the woods. Hope this helps!
Thank you!! I figured it would be something like that, but I just wanted to make sure before I did it.
