Okay, so I now have Windows 7 on my desktop, trying it.  Don't like that I can't have outlook express for my email any longer.

But I have Google as my home page for IE9 and this Google Chrome Toolbar install box pops up "EVERY" time I open IE.  It seem from checking online there's no way to permanently get rid of it except to click the X each time.  Anyone know how to get rid of this using IE9?

Thanks

Consider using Outlook as your email program and Google Chrome as your default browser.  Both great.  I open IE twice a month to print bills from two companies that won't print properly in Chrome.  Love W7.  You'll love it as you slowly get to know it.

I'll have to buy outlook.  I have office student 2007 but it doesn't include outlook and outlook express isn't availble on 7.  I've heard people say they don't like Google Chrome.

Kerry, I use Firefox, so I haven't encountered this problem, but usually, when one installs a program, there is an option/checkbox that asks if you want to install another feature/add-on, as well, with whatever you are installing -- in this case, Google Chrome.  I don't know if that might be the case with IE.  You might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling, making sure to read each screen carefully before advancing to the next screen in the installation, so you can either check/uncheck the Google Chrome option, if there is one.  Did the pop-up box have an option to check "Don't show me this again" or some such?

Kerry, I LOVE Google Chrome.  I use Gmail for my email and I like that also.

You like Google Chrome?  What do you love about it so much?  I tend to not like a lot of change when I've gotten used to something.  I use gmail, too, but I really liked it coming through Outlook Express better than being directly in gmial.

No, it makes me uncheck it every time I open up IE9.  I always said "no" to installing it.

Do you have your home page in IE set to Google.ca by any chance?  Try changing your home page to a different one.

I was using IE 8 and I found it to be very slow.  Google Chrome is very fast.  I really like it a lot.

Chrome is nice and fast, I agree.  I like it a lot.

Try Mozilla Thunderbird for your e-mail program.  You can have your gmail come through that, like Outlook Express, and all other pop3 e-mail accounts you might have.  It's a free download, and I couldn't believe it set itself up with gmail so seamlessly.

I'm another Chrome lover.  I hate IE.  It's nothing but a memory hog.

Really Thunderbird is like OE?  I talked to another reporter friend today who does not like Google Chrome, said it messes with her system...........

It is like OE in that you can download all your accounts in one send and receive.  I still prefer Chrome.  I guess it depends on what you get used to.  Good luck!

I've never had any issues w/ Google Chrome "messing with my system."  I'm on CC.  You could try it and then delete it if you don't like it.  It's lightening fast.
