Hi, all,
I've been using a little mic for my audio from Fry's that doesn't require a battery. I love it and it had great sound with my IBM laptop. I just got one of those tiny netbooks (an Acer) and I love it except the sound isn't great. I'm thinking I need a better mic so I don't get so much air noise. I have an old Martel mic that works great but you always have to check the battery and I'd like something where I don't have to worry about that. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you tried soundprofessionals.com? They have a number of batteryless mics that plug in to your USB port. I've got one, it almost looks like a flash drive. I've had no problems with it.
Mine is from soundprofessionals.com.
I also have two from soundprofessionals.com. The one I use now also plugs into the USB port, it's bulky but does have a longer cord, which makes it nice when I work with certain attorneys that are soft-spoken. I put the mic on the side of where the attorney's sitting. It's the Andrea USB mic
I have a 300-dollar mic from Martel that plugs into ur USB port. It was expensive, but it's noise canceling and picks up from about 75 feet and if you're in a big room, it works GREAT! I love it. It was worth the money, and it's a tax write-off! I think I got it from Martel, but Sound Professionals probably has something comparable!
Thank you all so much! I will check it out ASAP.
Well, I splurged and got the best one. I think it will be worth every penny. Thanks for all the FAST input!
