Hi, All!

I'm wondering if anyone has had to use the Diamante backup battery.  I was in a big job, saw the battery alert come on, and then discovered I didn't have my charger with me.  I died a thousand deaths while I waited for my husband (thank GOODNESS he was home, only 15 minutes away) to bring the charger to me.  Looking through the manual later I was reminded of the backup battery which is supposed to last another 8 hours or so after shutting down the displays.  I'd like to hear your experiences with the backup battery, looking for answers on whether I can really trust it. And if it shuts down the displays, did it continue to transmit to the laptop?   What actually happened?  What shut down and what continued to work?

I realize now I should have called for the charger, then gone straight back on the record, but hindsight is 20/20.  I did order a second battery and charger to leave in my bag, but does anyone want to weigh in with their battery experiences, whether good, bad, or ugly?   Thanks a bunch, friends.

Yes, Michelle, I had this happen. No charger. battery dying. All-day job. No husband to rescue me. Called support. They assured me the backup battery would take over. But they advised me to, on a break, shut off machine, take out main battery pack and turn machine back on. My display no longer worked, but I did make it thru the rest of the job with audio, realtime too. Hurray!

Thank you, Heidi, this is good to know.   I'm going to experiment with removing the battery pack and writing a little in order to know what to expect.   In fact, I'll create some notes on what to expect in my manual which I carry with me, so that with a future battery crisis I won't flip out.  To add to the anxiety of the day, these four lawyers were from out of town and needed to catch a flight in a couple of hours.  Oh, the horror!
