I am an experienced, professional scopist/proofreader accepting any types of jobs (depositions, court, meetings, dailies, expedites, etc.).  My work history includes 20+ years as a scopist and proofreader, as well as 13 years (to present) as a court reporter.  (I also worked for three years as a high school English teacher and six years as a legal secretary before beginning my court reporting practice.)  I have a bachelor of science degree in English and a technical certification in computer science, as well as my training in machine shorthand.

My software is Case CATalyst 11 with AudioSync.  I also use ExpressScribe for digital audio files.

Please visit my website www.MissCourtReporter.com for more details about my experience, and feel free to contact me at melsuz@aol.com for information about my rates and availability for your specific job.

I look forward to hearing from you!

I have a friend that is interested in starting to proofread.  Is there an online class she should take.  She currently is a legal secretary and wants to proof nights and weekends.

Thanks,

Janiece

I am always looking for more proofreading work to do. This summer has been exceptionally slow. I have been doing scoping and proofreading work for 26 years (come August 18th), so I have a lot of experience. I accept work via ASCII and proofread the transcript utilizing OpenOffice. I then create an errata sheet using page and line numbers and part of the sentence in question. If you are looking for a fast turnaround and someone who is really good at this, please contact me. Thanks. Barb

Hi!

I imagine that if you're browsing this section you're either looking for a proofreader, or you are a proofreader. If you're the former, and not the latter, look no further. :-)

I know it can be nerve wracking to try out a new proofreader, but there's no need to be nervous. I have an extensive background in proofreading and editing for depositions, short stories, novels, news writing, ebooks, web copy and advertising. I have a bachelor's degree in journalism with a minor in writing and I have special expertise and experience with construction-related documents.

How I work: I print depositions from .pdf, .doc, .docx, or .txt and will supply an errata in your preferred format.
My standard turnaround time is 2-3 days for $0.35/page.

If you are interested in web copy, novel, ebook or advertising proofreading and editing feel free to contact me for project pricing. You can contact me at absolute_transcripts@yahoo.com.

Thanks! :-)

I've recently become available for scoping/proofreading again.  I worked as a scopist/editor using Eclipse at the Royal Courts of Justice (Supreme Court of England and Wales), as well as the International Court of Justice at the Hague and the International Dispute Resolution Center in London.  I also have some experience editing depositions. Please contact me if you have editing/proofing needs that I can assist with, thanks.

Hello, everyone!  I have been proof reading proofreading exclusively for court reporters for 20 years now and have many recommendations from CSRs on this site under the "Scopists & Proofers Recommended by Reporters" discussion.  (See link:  http://csrnation.ning.com/forum/topics/scopists-proofers-recommended.)  Due to the summer slowdown I would like to add a couple of "heavy hitters" or several part-timers to my client roster.  My corrections process is very user friendly; you receive a PDF back from me with your corrections integrated into the transcript so you can see them in context without those dreaded errata sheets!  Corrections are searchable in the PDF and set off in red.  I offer competitive rates, reliability, flexibility, and same-day/overnight turnaround (with little notice in most cases).  I have a couple of different billing options for your convenience including prepayment at a discount.  Payment is handled exclusively through PayPal.  You may message me on this site for more information or contact me directly at chrisrenegar@gmail.com and I will promptly send out my bio, introductory information, and a rate sheet with a sample transcript attached.  I'd love to hear from you!  :-)

I am an experienced proofreader that has read 550,000+ pages since November 2002.  I will critique and provide an errata for at least 15 random transcript pages at no charge!  Can read most transcripts for .35 per page with 2- to 3-day turnaround (or less during slow periods, like now).

Heavy background in medical and legal fields, and I also managed a California court reporting agency.

Please visit my website We Never Sleep Proofreading for additional rate information, policies, contact information, and unsolicited testimonials.  I am not listing my email in this post (and suggest you don't either) because they easily end up in the hands of spammers!

Hi.

I have the latest version of Case CATalyst.  I charge .35 per page for regular turnaround.  I have a master's degree and worked as a speech-language pathologist for 17 years.  I've been proofreading for the last four years.  I'm enrolled in the Internet Scoping School and hope to be scoping sometime in the near future.  I'm very detailed, easy to work with, and efficient.

I can also proof using MS Word or other means.
