Ooooh, I love the bubbly. Once you find one you like, you'll be hooked for life. I think the reason more people don't love champagne or sparking wine is they have always had the gross stuff at parties.

My love affair started on my honeymoon in August of 2008 when our friends gave us a bottle of '99 Dom. It was so delicate, perfectly balanced, and wonderfully effervescent. So many tiny bubbles!!

For a cheaper thrill, try some of the selections at Trader Joe's, like Louise d' Estree. It's only $7!

For a mid-range champagne, try Roederer Estate Brut, only $18. It's usually on sale at Vons for around $17.

If anyone else has any suggestions, I'd love to try them,

Oh, and Kelli Combs asked on October 8th if champagne had fewer calories than red wine. Unfortunately, no. I found this site comparing them:
Alcohol-free Wine 37 calories
Champagne 96 calories
Dry Red Wine 83 calories
Dry White Wine 77 calories
Rose 82 calories
Sparkling 92 calories
Sweet Red Wine 100 calories
Sweet White Wine 103 calories

Unfortunate, isn't it? :(
