Segura Viudas is the wine

The wine is chosen for our first CSRnation Virtual Wine Tasting. I chose something at an affordable price point, something accessible throughout the country, and a wine that should be good for the holidays. It's a sparkling wine called Segura Viudas Brut Reserva. They were just bought by a major wine company and so it should be fairly easy to find it. For pairings, if you're interested, my wine merchant suggested potato chips! He said I'd be surprised. Also, goat cheese or a triple creme. So go out and buy this wine. We'll be popping the bubbly on Thursday!

Maybe I'm just having a blonde moment but what's triple cream? And, side note, yay, I'm so excited! I am looking forward to it. Now to see if Trader Joe's stocks it. :)

I have no idea what triple creme is. It's actually pronounced crem. It's a type of cheese that your cheese counter person should know. I'm a cheese idiot. I'm actually going to try the potato chip pairing. Hope you find the wine.

Oh I wish I would have read this discussion earlier! I have some things going on tonight, but this sounds like a great idea. I'll definitely have to join all of you next time, and maybe pick up the wine to try soon. :)

Ok, Folks. I'm on the East Coast, got my bottle, got my glass and just waiting for the West Coast. I was a late-comer to the group so I spent the lunch hour trying to find the wine selected for this evening. I found Segura Viudas Brut, but only thing available was pinot noir...guess that's close enough. I've got another hour and a half to wait and this bottle is staring at me.....sooooo if I seem a little loopy when you guys get here, you'll know I've popped the cork!! :O} This is fun already.
