When working in V5, I feel as though there is a delay.  Has anyone else had the same experience?  Delay meaning:  if I use a HK to make a change, for example, d to delete word, s to shave a letter, "," to place a ",", Ctrl + g  to global, the program does not seem to keep up with me.  There is a hesitation.  I need to wait to continue.  No -- it's not because I'm too speedy!

I've got that same thing going on with the job I'm editing now (almost 300 pages, wonder if that has anything to do with it).  Very sluggish.  I thought it was b/c I had too many programs open, but it didn't help once I closed them all down.  Maybe I'll try rebooting.

Thanks for the response.  I thought the same thing about the open programs, but it didn't help.  My job was only a 55-page job, so that wasn't my issue.  I'm going to just note it for a while.  If I become enlightened, I'll let you know.

Kathy...I'm not having a delay problem with 5.  Have you called tech support?

Hi Kathy,

I noticed the same issue.  I use Version 4.3 and 5 on a laptop using Windows 7 that has more than enough memory on it. Version 4.3 is fine, but 5 has a delay. Maybe I will call support on it, but so far my dealings with them left me somewhat unimpressed!

Hi, Kathy!

Yes, I encountered the same thing.....called support....they said Version 5 is a big resource hog.  They suggested buying a new computer with more memory.  I asked about just increasing the memory on the computer I had and they said that might not completely solve it since it's not just a memory issue.....(sorry, folks, can't rer the correct terms he used).

But I solved it on my laptop by going in and removing large programs that I don't really use.....haven't had a problem since then.

I had a feeling that it might be that I have an older computer.  I have quite a bit of memory and space that is not being used, but my computer needs to be replaced.  I just keep procrastinating.

That's one of the reasons, along with the audio too slow and behind also, why I went back to V4.  I don't have enough patience for this stuff.

When you say audio is too slow, are you talking about a lag time before the audio comes on?  This was one of the initial problems with Version 5.  I no longer have that problem.  Starting with the .14 update, those problems were gone.  Check your version and update if need be.  I'm on W7 32-bit.  Don't know if that's a factor or not.

I agree.  I'm currently working on a 5 job and find it frustrating as well.  If I'm making many changes and I pick up my momentum and speed, my fingers are adding new words before the "n" takes affect.

Has anyone noticed these problems getting better with the latest V5?  What is it, 0.22 I think.  I just upgraded but wanted to know if these issues are fixed.   Seems like the audio is working better and tracking along with the testimony again, which is good.
