Eclipse Version 5 Users

This group is for Version 5 users to share what aspects of Version 5 they are using and why.....as well as requests for help as problems arise using Version 5.

I just downloaded Version 5 (a year after it came out), and I feel like I'm learning Eclipse all over again.

Would greatly appreciate input from other Version 5 users.

I want the macro to allow me to adjust the playback speed, that is, open user settings, i.e., Alt U, Edit tab and jump to the play speed box all in one stroke. Shift [ just plays the audio for me.  Always been that way, so I don't know how the speed could be adjusted with Shift [.  I speed-listen to videos.  When the witnesses have accents, I often have to slow it down so I can make sure what I heard is correct.  As such, I need to switch from fast to slow playback often. Alt U, click Edit tab and Alt S, then change the playback speed back and forth is just too many steps.

I don't understand your macro request.  What exactly do you want it to do?  There is a key which gives you the option to change the speed when you play the audio.  That's Shift [

I have made a macro which will toggle the audio on and off and I use Hyperkey b for that because I wasn't using b for anything else. The command for the macro is - well, I'll just attach a picture.

I could give it two weeks.  There are a few things that I like, and a few things that are driving me crazy!

Anyone know how to create a macro to open Alt U, Edit tab, play speed???

You must give it a try.  Give it two weeks.

I don't feel the suggestions are all that helpful in assisting me to edit any faster.  I edit quickly anyway, so it seems I don't even have time to really look over there. It takes me longer to make a conscious effort to look for suggestions. :(

You will like it.  It's so much better.  There is a learning curve!  I changed my Alt 7, etc. to Shift 7, etc.  I don't like to press the Alt!

Thanks, Jenny.  I'll see if I could get used to this.  If not, I'm going back to 4 for life.

The View toggles dialog contains a "use numbers" option that determines whether or not the numbers appear to the left of the commands. If you have this option turned on, then the number keys can be used to select options, but the user will have to use the "type in text" function to actually type numbers, just as you would normally do with Hyperkeys for typing things in.

Because AutoMagic can speed up globaling under most circumstances, using the AutoMagic numbers overrides not only the ability to type numbers, but the default Hyperkeys for doing multi-stroke globals (7, 8, 9 and 0.) These commands will be automatically reassigned to Alt+7, 8, 9, 0. You can turn off the "Use numbers" option if you want to re-assign these back to just the digits, but then you'll have to select the AutoMagic options by clicking on them with the mouse, or by reassigning the keystrokes for the AutoMagic selection menu items under Window/Select.

Finally updated to V5.  Now that there's that box, whatever it is, and it uses all the numbers, how the heck do I do a multistroke global?  If this question has already been asked, sorry.  I haven't been following along.  Thanks.
