Eclipse Version 5 Users

This group is for Version 5 users to share what aspects of Version 5 they are using and why.....as well as requests for help as problems arise using Version 5.

I just downloaded Version 5 (a year after it came out), and I feel like I'm learning Eclipse all over again.

Would greatly appreciate input from other Version 5 users.

So what's the common element here among you all?  I use Win7, but 32-bit, and I'm not having this happen.  Are you using 64-bit Win7?  Which codecs are you using?

If you go one level up from your jobs folder to the Eclipse folder, you'll see a file called ecl5xxxdmp that contains the info about the crash you experienced.  Please send that file to support with a description of what you were doing at the time of the crash.  This is how bugs get fixed.

I'm just wondering why it only was happening on those old files.  My newer ones are playing just fine.  Hmmm.

I was trying to listen to the audio.   Cindy is right - had to have the microphone attached.  What a pain.  That never happened in V4, that's for sure.  Thanks for all the responses.

That happened to me and I had to download the Speex codec from the Eclipse website and then I could play audio on my desktop.  It didn't make any sense that I could play it on my laptops but not my desktop, and that was it.

It's the sixth download from the bottom called Speexacm...

I'm glad someone asked this question.  I'm getting the same message -- even just today.  It happens when I try to play audio.  It's from a case I backed up on a CD and restored, if that has anything to do with it.

What were you doing in Eclipse when that happened?

Comment by Cindy Boedy on August 18, 2012 at 9:45

Kelli,

I get that error when I don't have my microphone plugged in.  That never happened on Version 4, just 5.  However, just this week I had an access violation as well but for the life of me I'd never be able to tell you what I was doing to get it.

I'm getting this "Access Violation" message and being kicked out of Eclipse.  Anyone know what that's about??

Yes, Ann.....Jeremy will be talking about it at the Adv. Software "seminar" at Philadelphia for those going to the NCRA convention.
