I am a PDF transcript proofreader who helps underappreciated, overworked, and overwhelmed court reporters that don't have time to proofread transcripts they've been starting at for hours on end. Though I am not a court reporter, I understand a plaintiff or defendant who whispers when they talk, or lawyers who scream "Objection!" over each other makes a court reporter's job much harder than it already is. You don't get a pause or rewind button and there's no closed captioning.
A different letter or punctuation mark can completely change the meaning or flow of a sentence. Imagine the previous sentence without the "A" at the beginning. Replace it with any other letter and it will throw a lawyer off in court, which makes them look bad, and in turn, reflects poorly on you. I've been trained to catch mistakes like this and save all parties involved a lot of grief. I know what to look for in bylines and colloquy, and I'll compare exhibits to the rest of the transcript. I will make sure the transcript itself is neat, organized, and as easy to read as possible.
Don't care for the Oxford comma? I won't mark it. Are you a stickler for proper capitalization of plaintiff and defendant? Consider it done. Do you dread having to comb through the entire transcript looking for annotations? No problem. Once I proofread a transcript, I'll only return the pages that have annotations.
I love learning something new while proofreading--whether it's to help me do my job better or general information, it makes me love my job even more.

My goal is to relieve court reporters’ stress by helping them to perfect their transcripts. I understand the hesitancy of my clients to hand over their transcripts to another person; therefore, I highlight and make notes and corrections to a PDF copy of your file. This makes my notes easy to see, and you can decide whether to accept my suggestions and corrections or not. You retain complete control of your transcript.
