I decided to try and go analog yesterday...went down to (one of four) the Los Angeles County courthouse to put up flyers for proofreading services, only to be shunted from the 1st floor to the 4th floor, BACK to the 1st floor, waited in line for 30 minutes, to be told about an hour after I arrived that there are no bulletin boards to do that! Ha!
So, in case you are in the Los Angeles area, and looking for a proofreader, I can help. :D

Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa!

I can handle your proofreading needs while you take a much-earned break from your non-stop job of court reporting.

With an eye for detail and skill in research, I read your document word for word paying attention to spelling, punctuation, and the context of the transcript.

Let’s get to know each other,

Debra Ann

This article on the top lookups on Merriam-Webster in 2018 caught my attention when I made one of my many visits to that website today. As a proofreader working with court reporters, my business Themis Proofreading (themisproofreading.com) was inspired by Themis, the Titan Goddess of Divine Law and Order and of prophecy and oaths (and advisor to Zeus). In earlier depictions of Themis, she does not have a blindfold because as an oracle and able to foretell the future, wearing a blindfold would be pointless. She also didn't have a sword because she represented common consent, not coercion. The Roman Goddess of Justice, Justitia, was portrayed with scales, a sword, and a blindfold symbolizing impartiality before the law. Justice was Merriam-Webster's 2018 Word of the Year.

I currently have an opening for an additional court reporter. I can be contacted at marie@themisproofreading.com.
