Busy as usual, Alice. Why doesn't that surprise me. :)
How's that speed coming??
Please let Ms. Nichols know that Mark K. is coming to San Diego, and let her know he'll run a deal for teachers and students in a group. It would be so awesome if a couple teachers would attend. I think it would help out the school so much. Ravenscroft might be interested, too.
Yes, depos are nonexistent for Clay, but he's gotten in pretty tight with court. He had to go to Indio, but he's happy to be working.
They had seven new positions in our county recently, but another reporter posted them on this site, and they ended up doing interviews for three days solid with reporters applying nationwide. Kicked Mr. No Experience out to Timkubtu Indio -- two hours away. :)
They haven't even called him once to work in Riverside.
The great news is he really loves it -- still -- and he's doing such a great job. He's handling so many situations like a pro, and I just beam when he tells me about what he encounters and how he's handling whatever comes his way.
Are you going to be able to make MK's bootcamp in San Diego next month??
He extended a $50 group rate to students ten or more for his Sacramento boot camp today. You should get a group together from your school to go. I'm pretty sure I'm going -- depending on if I book a Spring Break trip out of the locale.
Anyway, use that presidential status of yours and pass the word on. :)
Well, if it makes you feel better, I don't use the extension on the "Yes, I do."
That would be a good one, but I just come back after the answer symbol for my YOD. Probably should put that on the list of to-dos.
I do use some of the "I don'ts" and love them.
I use DOE for I don't know -- because that's how it sounds to me.
DOE-FRPBLGTS A. I don't know.
DL -FRPBLGTS A. I don't recall.
DR-FRPBLGTS A. I don't remember.
My next "expansion" on my extensions -- HA! -- is hopefully pulling up on the initial S- for when the questions start in "and." That's a Dennis Steiner "theory, and I really think it's brilliant.
Example:
Q. And what did you
TKPWHRA*U
The A is "what," the * is "did," and of course the missing S- is the "and."
I bought the Dennis Steiner package about three or so months ago and absolutely love it. He's an old-time writer that must have had steno visions in his sleep. :)
I met him once at a convention, and he's just another steno nerd that obviously loves writing. He's amazingly creative.
Thank you, Alice. I hope you have a Merry Christmas, too!!
Glad you get a bit of a break.
Have you looked at the Q & A extensions yet??
Clay held out on me for a long time on that one. I think he's still taking it slow with them. He's been sitting in with me quite a bit and is handling fast Q & A like a pro. I keep thinking this witness is going to do him in, and when it's all over, he's, like, "No prob!"
I absolutely love my extensions. They've made my job so much easier.
Yes, take your academics when you're completed and feel ready. Sounds like you might be finished with the machine and the academics at the same time. Good for you!
He does look great. That skate rat cleans up nicely!
He said it was great to see everybody yesterday.
You're right, he is pretty cool about the whole thing. First job is today, so we'll see how he feels after the real thing. :)
Are you on your holiday break now? Probably not. It seems way early.
When are you going to take your academic tests for the CSR?? Has anyone talked to the students at your school about that?? Getting the tests out of the way when your academics are completed??

Okay. I'll shut up. Sorry.
Take care!
Hope school's going great.

I'm just curious.
Think I heard Clay say he's going to a school party tomorrow. Hope you recognize him. He's all cleaned up now. :)
Going through my friends' list and saw you there.
How's school going??
