I am a certified English teacher in the state of Oklahoma and have been scoping and proofreading for about five years. After a year of teaching by day and scoping by night, I came to my senses and gave up classroom teaching for good, and I've never looked back! :D I currently work for several real-time certified and merit reporters (including several officials) but could handle being a bit busier. I'm always on the lookout for a great reporter in need of a conscientious scopist.
About me: I was a teacher for 11 years and am now enjoying the flexibility of working for myself and working from home. I enjoy crossword puzzles and have a love of the English language. I am an excellent speller and researcher and a stickler for just the right word. My favorite expression is "Say what you mean and mean what you say." I am detail-oriented and well-read. In addition, I speak fluent French, have a basic understanding of Latin, and am familiar with legal and medical terminology. I'm also a devoted researcher. So what I don't know, I look up.
About my equipment: I have been on Case CATalyst since the beginning of my scoping career and added Eclipse at the beginning of 2008, a very exciting addition! When scoping, I prefer the audiosync features to a transcriber, and I also have a digital foot pedal. Basically, I think you'll find me flexible in many ways. Whatever you want, I will do. I am eager to please and want you to be satisfied with the product because I understand, ultimately, that your name goes on it.
Finally, I try to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in the scoping and court reporting fields. I love daily and expedited copy and long projects such as trials. I'm also available for on-site scoping, if needed. If you'd like to learn how to use FolderShare for a daily or a trial, just let me know. I still have a teacher's heart and love to combine my superb editing skills with up-to-the-minute technology to make your life easier!
Many glowing references available upon request.

Thanks for adding me to your circle of friends:-)

So glad to hear you're still scoping!! Yes, I switched to Eclipse because I was doing daily and we all had to merge together and it was easier to be on one software. I like Eclipse. It took me a while to get used to it. I hated it at first. Now I like it quite a bit. I still haven't really used a scopist for Eclipse yet because I was trying to learn the software. I've been on it about a year now.
Are you still dating Mr. Clean from England? (LOL) You know I'm only kidding, but we both joked that he looked like Mr. Clean.
Anyway, I'm really glad to hear that you're scoping still. When I start using scopists again I'll definitely keep you in mind!
Hope all is well! Sounds like you've been doing excellent in your career change. I'm so glad it has worked out for you.
Leanna
