Welcome to CSR Nation
Hi, To introduce myself, I have been a freelance court reporter since graduating from court reporting school in 2000. I also have a BA from Wheaton College (1982, magna cum laude) in French and Russian. I live just outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
As a freelance deposition reporter, I take depositions, trials, arbitrations, meetings, and hearings of all types. I love medicals the most, probably because I was a medical administrative assistant and medical transcriptionist when I was working my way through college. I currently also do medical-legal transcription for an ob/gyn.
As your scopist, I will work on your transcript as if it were my own. I take pride in my work. I'm a team player and do daily copy scoping work, taking turns with other scopists, meshing styles and timing in order to satisfy my reporter clients.
I will scope to full audio, matching all stutters, if requested, for a video; spell check; proof for grammar and punctuation; research terms and names; and make scannable notations in CaseCATalyst 15.
If I don't know the proper rule of punctuation or grammar to employ, I will research it. All suggested corrections will be inserted with a ^ and can be easily found simply by scanning for untranslates.
I have a detailed Reporter's Preferences that I encourage my new clients to fill out. That way, we can start out as we mean to go on -- on the same page.
