we have two financing choices. One is thru another company and one is thru our company. Depending on your circumstances we can do either one. And since both are leases there is not an APR per say. But I would be happy to help you sort out in private which one would be best. Just email me and we will work on it.

Lol Jason. I promise I won't be the crazy cook the bunny in the microwave type stalker.. just the send you money type.

I think I'd be too nervous to use the machine with no backup.. no paper or anything in case of a problem. I talked to my sis and I might be able to work something out. Jason, is your financing program through another company or is it in-house? What's the APR and the eligibilty requirements? I assume I'd still need a co-signer since I'm not employed? Thanks AGAIN!

you could start with the caption model and still use it when you go out to work if you bring your laptop. It would be similar to working with an SRT 400. I worked like that on my Gemini2 the first 6 months. I have an audio back-up separate too. I have an Olympus digital recorder. I like having the SS software though and the tablet, if that helps, LOL. I know I could never go back to a regular machine now,.

P.S. I have always wanted a stalker. But I guess stalking my machine will do. :)

That is correct SS does not come with the captioners version of software.

FYI we offer a financing option that will let you put half down, and pay the balance over 12 or 18 months on the court reporting system.

The Standard case fits the writer and is shoulder carry ( comes with the captioerns model) the deluxe case (comes with the court system) is a shoulder carry bag and fits both your machine and laptop, the wheelie case is a mini wheelie that holds everything and a ton of other crap. :)

I thought it looked like on Rhoda's machine that there's no button above the left * (which I was referring to as the H/R.. I didn't notice it had an * on both sides.. that's cool) but the ones on your site look like they do have one there.

As I understand it, the SS software is part of the price of the silver and gold packages and doesn't come with just the machine, like if you got the captioner's package.. am I reading that right, Jason?

I'm pretty much sold on this machine. I just have to figure out how I'm going to afford it and my software. I'm almost out of school and I'm about to get my last loan dispursement, which won't cover both. I'm kicking around the idea of getting the captioner's model and practice on it but use my 8000 until I start making money and then buy the SS software to run on my laptop.. or the SS and the UMPC. Or possibly getting my sister to co-sign on the software (since I don't have a job, they won't finance me alone.) so I could just go for the full package, but my family has helped so much while I've been in school, I almost don't want to ask, lol. Anyway, that's enough of my rambling.

Jason, what's the difference between the cases? I noticed the option of deluxe for $45 or rolling for $85. The packages say they come with the standard case, but when you put it in the shopping cart it says the deluxe is included in the price? Any chance anyone has pictures of the cases? I imagine that with a machine that light, a rolling case wouldn't be so necessary?

Thanks again for the info.. I'm kind of an info freak and I've been stalking all the facts I can get on this machine!

Oh, I do get the tablet out to bring my dictionary updates over to it from my laptop.....

Heather,
I still use my right index finger to work the * key. The left side is just 'there'...but you could probably request a wide key on it, I would bet. Jason answered your others. I only take the tablet (UMPC) with me on jobs. Replaces the need for the laptop, as it is the laptop. Plus, you can run StenoSync (Gemini software, you get for 'free' when you get the tablet or machine alone, right, Jason?) you run SS in the background while running Case, so you 'have' your notes if Case freezes. I have had Case issues...either 'my' problems setting up or it has froze, and it is nice to have the backup! I have not had the tablet itself ever do anything....knock on wood, lol. Have been using the tablet for a year now. LOVE not dragging my laptop along and having it setup at home and not having to unpack it after a job!!!

I backup to a flash drive on the job, and I keep that in my purse, so I never 'open' my bag when I get home, lol. My machine stays packed. No need to 'forget' anything that way if an emergency job came up....well, just need to grab the Case key. BUT would just run StenoSync if I did forget it!!! :) I do have my spare Gemini2 that I leave connected to my laptop and do practice work with that....ok, so that's not ALL true, I have been practicing on the Grand as it is HEAVEN!!!! But I have the option to just leave it all packed. Plus, another backup too as I don't delete jobs until after a few months, lol. I would stll have my raw job if I needed it. PLUS the SS software can record audio too...although I don't think it is 'synced'....am I right on that, Jason?? But atleast another backup! Can't have too many of those, lol.

Well they are the same as on Rhoda's machine. The 5 and zero still remain the number bar and the A and O unless you specify them differently in eclipse. In Eclipse you can define any key to be anything with our machine which is really the power. Not that you would want to but you can redefine the whole keyboard, numbers, letters, etc.

Jason, thanks for the reply. I hate to flood you with e-mails, but it seems I have never-ending questions. I really like the concept of the split numbers, I'm just concerned that it might make my numbers even worse than they already are. I think they might not have worked for me on the LS because of the lack of feedback. I wonder how hard it is to adjust to. Also, I noticed Rhoda's machine doesn't have the same setup on the numbers as the machines on your site. In the stock setup, is the 5 above the H and the 0 above the asterix? I am eclipse, so I could definitely envision using those extra keys. Thanks yet again!
