Hello. Now I do actually have a question:) I wondered if anyone on here knew how to isolate a piece of your audio and save it separately or how to save an audio file with pieces cut out of it. Some of our attorneys ask for the audio files to be included on a disc with the transcript, but I do not pause it every time there is a short discussion off the record because usually they just start talking off the record anyway. Therefore, I just need to know how to cut the off the record discussions, etc. out so that way I can send the audio with the transcripts when requested.

Thank you!!!

Hi, Erica...my husband just gave me the name of his program for the PC...

It's Sony Sound Forge, Audio Studio 9...it's the "light" version of this program...you might want to check it out on the Sony website...

Erica...

There are computer programs that divide audio files so you can mark them separately and save pieces. My husband and I videotape musical events, and I do very simple video/audio editing, and sometimes I want to take a song and place it somewhere else in the video. On a Mac computer, you can use a program called SpinDoctor, and my husband was recently working with a program on the PC made by Sony (I don't recall the name right now, but I can find out for you). As I'm still a student court reporter, I've never worked with deposition files, but I think one of these programs would work the same way, since an audio file is an audio file. Take a look at the Sony website and see if you can find something there.
