Hi reporters!
Need your opinion. Our family hasn't been on vacation in years. We need a vacation. We used to go to Cozumel, Mexico and loved it. Is it too dangerous there? Does anybody have any insight? Am I worrying too much?
Thank you!!

Wouldn't that be nice - bunny slippers and PJs. LOL
Had a friend go to Maccu Picchu and loved it. You're going to have a great time. What i've learned about marriage: when you're right, keep your mouth shut. When you're wrong, say you're sorry!! :)
Kelli, still enjoying and using my treadmill desk. Now, if I could figure out how to wear slippers and pajamas to a job.....
Very beautiful pictures. I'd rather be on that beach with a margarita than trying to get my butt up the mountain of Maccu Picchu, which I'll be doing in a couple of weeks. Marriage is a compromise, though, so off I go.
BEAUTIFUL! We're going! I'm really looking forward to it. It's been years since we've had a vacation. Time for some Sol beer and sunshine. Thanks Judy!!
I Was in Cozumel last year and had an awesome time. I didn't think it was dangerous at all.

Hawaii sounds good! Our son really wants to go to Cozumel because of great memories as a kid. We left it up to him (sort of) and say where do you want to go because he's coming home from Afghanistan from the war and deserves a vacation! He really wants to go there. I just want some feedback on is this place safe or not.
Happy Friday!!
Is Hawaii an option?
On Saturday morning I'll be touching down at Cancun airport, taking a public transportation bus (gets there faster than the hotel's van) over to our timeshare in Playa del Carmen for a week, and then from there spending a few days in Cozumel to dive. I think you need to keep your eyes open, but I find the shopkeeper vultures on 5th about the most annoying part of Playa. All of the hotels over there force you to wear a wrist band indicating you're a member. The vultures on 5th take one look at the band and all of a sudden you're reacquainted with your "favorite" waiter from the night before (even though I've never eaten in the hotel restaurant). Those bands make us targets.
We were in Cozumel about a year and a half ago. They do have armed soldiers in front of all of the jewelry stores. Apparently there was a huge robbery a while back. They held up the stores and then fled in a waiting boat.
Cozumel is nice for diving, but it's much more interesting in Playa. Better restaurants, more things to do. Better beaches, too.
