I actually posted this comment a week ago, but it never left my page. Yikes. I'll get this computer thing yet. Yes, I took the WKT in January and just got my scores this past week. I PASSED! I was a little nervous because I didn't really feel that confident about it.
I absolutely love the stenomaster theory, which is Mark Kislingbury. I'm not familiar with Penn Foster theory. I'm sure it's great. It will definitely be a plus that it's realtime ready. :)

The traffic is crazy now. My parents are getting on up in age and it's really restricting for them. But, what can you do? I think most of my family are planning to move out toward Satsuma. I don't know if you're familiar with that area. My brother is building like a whole town out that way. School, hospital, condos, offices. It's going to be beautiful. Anyway, about SimplySteno. I think you're really going to like it. It was exactly what I needed. Marc is great. The academic instructors were awesome. In fact, I just got my results back from the WKT that I took in January and I passed. I was a little worried about that one. If there's anything in particular that I can answer for you just let me know. I tested in at 140 and that was January of 2007. I wish I had started with him 6 months before I did. I was relearning a realtime theory (Stenomaster by Mark Kislingbury) which I love and was kind of waiting for their school to get up and going, but anyway, that's the story and I am practicing my head off for the RPR in May. :)

Hi Robin, I was reading on another site that you moved to Shreveport from Baton Rouge. All of my family is in B.R. I'm also a member of SimplySteno.
I've been with them for a little over a year. Great program. I'm praying like crazy to pass the RPR in May. Good luck on your CR journey!

One thing consistent about court reporting is that it is never consistent. It flucuates so much from year to year and month to month. It seems like one month you're overworked and the next month you're starving. Shreveport is up and down. It's not as busy as New Orleans, just because I think more people sue in New Orleans. I think the future looks good for court reporters in the coming years in Louisiana as a whole.

Hey Ms. Robin. I would love to get together some time if not to practice then maybe a glass of wine! I am studying the Pheonix Theory. I am really thinking about switching to voice writing though. I am not so crazy about learning this steno and I really want to get done with school faster. With voice writing I can get done in a year or so instead of the 2-3 I'm looking at now. Anyhoo, just holler at me and we can hook up. I live right outside of Blanchard. Kind of out but not too bad. I'm close to my parents who live in Blanchard. I like knowing i'm just a few miles from them if something happens. they are getting on in age. Talk to you soon!

That is so cool that you live here too! We need to talk! I do not drive to Dallas. I do the online program too. So how are you liking it so far? I started in July and am starting my third quarter. These last two have been so stressful for me because I got behind and spent more time playing catch up than really learning the steno, so this quarter I will spend more time practicing.
