Can anyone please tell me what the best anti-virus protector recommended? I have been using Norton and was not that happy with it. I heard that Web-Root or Kaspersky was good, but Kaspersky was pretty technical. Other people told me that Macaphee was not that great either. Please help, my Norton protection expires tomarrow.
Thank you.

I have been using AVG which is available free or you can pay for it. Greg Hockenberry recommended AVG in the last quarterly computer safety conference call through Scoping Made Affordable.
Here is a link to the paid subscription: http://www.avg.com/product-avg-internet-security
Greg Hockenberry will be providing another computer safety conference call through Scoping Made Affordable (SMA) on Wednesday, August 19th at 11 a.m. CST. Or if you're interested in listening to the call from May, go to the www.joyfulscoping.com website and go to the conference calls link. You can place your order and then I'll send you all the information, the instruction and the audio file.
Because of how quickly computers and virus protection can change, Greg is partnering with SMA to provide this information on a quarterly basis.
I used to use Norton many years ago. Like Wynne, it seemed to slow my computer down. When I purchased a new Dell desktop, they gave me a free one-year membership to Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security.
I love it, love it, love it. It does a daily scan once a day, without bothering me one bit. I don't even notice it. I just minimize it while it's doing its thing. It has, by the way, caught a couple trojans while I was surfing on Google.
I renewed my membership for three years, and I now have only Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security on all my computers -- laptop, printing computer, play computer, and Internet computer.
