I'm just wondering how many of you stopped Catalyst support some time ago and how long you have had the security device button?  They are now going keyless.  I just don't trust not having the "hardware" piece of the button if the keyless code fails.

Those of you that do have a key/button, how long have you had it for?  Do you think they wear out eventually?

As good as I am with Catalyst (and I'm good), I need support a few times a year and of course want the updates.  I have never not had a support contract.  It's credit card points and a tax deduction.  Keyless is fabulous and I love it.  I read on Depoman that there's an internal battery or some such on the key and it will fail but don't know and, for myself, don't care.  Keyless is flawless!

I am keyless and love it.  I was always worried about losing the key, and the container it came in kept falling apart.    I had my key for 4 or 5 years and it still worked.  I suppose they can last  a really long time.   I still have my support, so I converted over.  One less thing to worry about.

They're not "going" keyless.  They have been for a year already.  And hardware fails all the time.  I'd be more worried about that than a code failing.  I have never heard of a code failing.  Once it's in and you access the software, you're good.  And once the battery runs out on your key, then what will you do?  I know when I had my key, I forgot it several times.  Now you don't have to worry about that.  Change is okay.

Really?  And here I've been bucking the system for all these years and you're telling me now that change is okay?  (Smiling)  After many years on Eclipse, I have also bought Case CATalyst and am hoping to learn that system as well.  Eclipse uses a key.  I treat mine like gold, of course, but still it's ... bothersome, I guess you could say.  Opening up Case CATalyst and not having to worry about that silly key, plus opening up another USB port is great.

LOL, M.A.  Repeat after me.  "I will change.  Change is good."  LOLOLOL!
