You know you're getting old when your teen heartthrobs start passing away and when the actors from your younger days look like old men.   I was so sad to hear that Davy Jones passed away.  One of my favorite memories of him is from his appearance on The Brady Bunch.   Here's a blast from the past:

I forgot to mention that you also know you're getting old when the lawyers start looking like little girls and boys!

Or when you think the expert might be a good match for one of your children!

RIP Davy Jones.

Janet, I know what you mean about the young-looking lawyers.  I'm starting to feel long in the tooth.

Sad about Davy Jones.  He was only 66,  Too young to go.

I saw Davy last summer doing a tour with Peter and Mickey.  Davy was doing a lot of dancing and looked pretty good really.  Apparently a week later the tour broke up over disagreements.

Same summer I saw 3 Dog Night.  Wow, they are old men now, too.  I'm not far behind.

Yeah, this does something when the teen idols are now dying of old age.

I just read about the Monkees getting back together and then splitting again in the middle of the tour.

I saw the Beach Boys perform at the Grammy's.  Talk about old men!   Wow.   They're going on tour again.  They had a falling out for years too.  Seems like they all do.

Oh.  That is too bad.  He was one I'd drool over.  Loved their theme song/show.

The attorney on my job today didn't look a day over 17.  Crazy.  He said he was 29 but I'm not so sure.

There's an attorney over here that wears his high tops and jeans to depos.  Looks like he should be carrying his skate board instead of a legal file.

How long have you been singing the theme song from the Monkees since Davy passed?  ("Here we come, walking down the street....).  Ah, life was simple then - oh..I'm starting to sound like an old goat!!!  That's okay - as long as we don't act like them :)

I've been singing all of them, Mary, not just the theme song!   You're not the only cuddly toy that was ever enjoyed by any boy.  You're not the only choo choo train left out in the rain the day after Santa c-a-a-a-a-m-e, la la la la la la la la la la la la la.

Yep, acting like an old goat.

yes, I enjoyed watching their performances on YouTube yesterday.   They had some good song writers behind them.  Nilsson wrote that cuddly toy song.  Although I had their albums (I was the prime target age for the Monkees), and I remember they wrote some of their own songs, particularly Mike.  And I remember Auntie Grizelda was written by Peter.  Sadly I gave the albums away. But thank god for YouTube.
