Foods that help as an anti-inflammatory and foods to stay away from

I found this great website online by accident.  It's called "The Conscious Life."  I'm always looking for foods to eat to help with inflammation.  I thought I'd post it here in case anyone wants more info on this subject.

They also talk about foods to stay away from as well.  Pretty interesting.

Kelli,

Thanks for posting this.  I'm going to read up on it as soon as I have a spare minute.

Great info.

Janiece

Thanks, Janiece

I have completely changed my eating the last year.  I juice all the time now and am very conscious of what I put in my body, as before I never really thought about it.  When you start looking into how much crap is put into the food we eat, it's pretty shocking.  No wonder people are dying from cancer.  It is all up to us all to make a difference and be in charge of what you put in your mouth.  Organic with no pesticides is definitely the way to go.  Slow way down on the red meat that comes from the Monsanto and the Tyson that dominate 80% of the meat industry because that meat is packed full of hormones and those animals are eating other animals instead of grass, which is what they are supposed to eat.  You don't want all of that in your body.

Most people have no concept of what they are actually putting in their bodies.  Don't get me started.  The last six months I have been on a mission.  It just seems like the industry wants to keep us all in the dark so they can feed us fatty, unhealthy foods and when we get sick, they make money in the healthcare system with expensive drugs for diabetes and cancer drugs and hospital care.   They win while the consumer loses over and over again.

People need to take control of their own healthcare because the FDA is not on your side.  I hope no one thinks I'm nuts.  Just get on Netflix and watch some documentaries on the food industry like Food, Inc. or Kiss Your Fat Goodbye I watched tonight.  Very informative about foods you don't even know what they can do for you, vegetables.  Fresh is a good one, King Corn is a great and very informative documentary about how much "corn" is in absolutely everything we eat.

I could go on and on but I'll stop so people won't think I'm weird.....

Keep going on and on, Kelli.  I find this stuff fascinating.  What's a shame, too, is how much more it costs to eat healthy as opposed to filling up on crap.

So true.  The crappy food is subsidized by the four largest companies and also the government.  It is cheaper to buy a McDonalds hamburger than a head of broccoli.

I watched one program where they were in a school talking to children about five or six years old.  They didn't even know what the vegetables were that they were holding up.  If you don't teach your children what to eat, all the healthy things, the next generation will live ten years shorter than this generation.  Very, very sad.  All the children that parents think have ADD, it's because they are all amped up on too much sugar.  Here I go again.  This is all preventable.

Excellent, site, Kelli!  I also follow Dr. Mercola online, for over ten years,  and shop at Vitacost. I recenty bought a Nutribullet, which pulverizes food and is way easier to use than a juicer. I have a very expensive Omega juicer which I now want to sell.  I love the Nutribullet, easy to use and easy to clean.

Thank you so much, you guys!!  Never heard of Dr. Mercola.   I'm actually thinking of making a group here for some of us that are this serious into our health.  We could learn from each other.  I just learned from both of you about Dr. Mercola.  I am totally a newbie to all of this, but I feel like a sponge and want to take it all in.

I just started a group called "You are what you eat...."  So join me there and we can continue out conversation about what we need to learn on this subject.  I can tell my husband is getting tired of it.
