Just curious what people's thoughts are.  I'm still working but it seems the quality of work is definitely changing.  I'm used to multiple copies, realtime, roughs, expedites.  Now it's just a regular job.  I'm not used to getting those very often.   A "regular job" means no video, no RT or roughs.  Just a plain old vanilla copy of the transcript.

I've noticed this last week and starting this week.  Hmmmmm.....

2nd best year ever.  No rest for the weary.

It has been slow for me in Northern California, but I don't normally do the high-end stuff anyway.   I honestly wonder how some small FOs can pay their bills, when there is only a couple of jobs on the calendar any given day.  I guess I am glad I did the JAMS arb in SF because at least it was something.   I am doing hearings in court  and doctor depos in far-flung places to keep busy, but I usually work 4 or 5 days a week.  But I don't do realtime...yet.

I have taken time off recently for two lumpectomies and a biopsy, now follow-up doctor's appointments.   But it's precancerous. thank God.   I am feeling pretty grateful at the moment.  The traffic in Silicon Valley is awful!   Takes an hour for a 20-minute drive (without traffic).

Martha, you are right.  Takes me an hour and a half to get home from San Francisco.  As a matter of fact, I just got home about 20 minutes ago and it's 7:42 now. Ugh!!  Makes for some long days, that's for sure.  Not complaining because I did have a realtime job today on a decent case.  I have an economist tomorrow, so maybe things are picking up.

The office is saying things are booking and then canceling - not staying on calendar.  Very strange.

Sorry for what must have been very stressful weeks of doctor visits, Martha. Glad the results were good.

I'm glad to hear it's not cancer, Martha.  I've been through that too.  It's been almost five years and everything is still okay.

It's extremely slow in NJ....it's killing me.

I consider Placer County, CA more rural, and this has been our slowest year since I've been working in this area (1989).  I've been lucky to pick up some extra work in Sacramento from an out-of-state firm.  We cover trials now and again which really helps some, but I think that there are fewer cases and less discovery and quicker settlement going on in this part of the state.  My daughter is in grad school and my grandson has gotten a lot of viruses since he is in his first year of preschool, so I've at least been free to help out as needed and have been grateful for the time to spend with him.  And I've been working on health with an acupuncturist and naturopath so haven't gotten any of these viruses since February!  (Had a bad one before that.)  It will be interesting to see if it gets busier in 2014 because I've never gone through a down cycle that lasted a whole year before.

Well, it seems like it's picking up again already.  I'm sure it will slow down again at Thanksgiving for sure.  I welcome the break.  I stress if I'm busy and I stress if I'm slow.  Crazy!!

I am getting pretty slammed now.

Slammed all year o.O.
