I find that my most productive times in turning out transcripts is early in the morning and late evening after my daughter has gone to sleep. Saturday morning (early) is usually a good time to work on transcripts for me.

My daughter is still at the stage where she takes a nap. I can get out a couple of pages during her afternoon naps. I will be sad when she no longer has her naps as that will mean that mommy can no longer sneak away and work on transcripts.

What about you?

This is awesome. I will definitely get one for my daughter. Thanks for posting the link.
My most productive time is at night as well after my son has gone to sleep. He is 10 years old. So if I do have a half day. I will go home and start working until I have to pick him up from after school care. From about 5:00 to 8:30, it's all about doing homework, cooking dinner, spending quality time with him, then getting him in the shower. At about 9:00 to whenever, is when I start back up with work.

On the weekends, I wing it. My son likes to hang around me. So if I set up in the office, he's right along me playing with his legos or cars or reading. It works out great.
Like Myscilyn, my most productive stage is late, very late at night. I find it easier to sit down in the quite when everyone is asleep and the day is done, there is nothing else to disturb or distract and I can concentrate on what I need to get done.

If I have to work during the day my daughter uses my spare desk and my old manual steno machine as her "office" and she spends time calling and scheduling reporters on her toy phone!! It's great to watch :)
I can understand you wanting to take a break at lunch. Especially in court. In court, you can end up going for quite a while before getting a break.
I do my best work right when the kids leave to school at 6:30 am and I will get a lot done before my husband gets home at 9 am....becuase then forget about it. And also the emails start, the phone starts ringing...very hard to work during business hours at home.
