I like it when everything is scoped and I only have proofing to do, and there is not a whole backlog of pages waiting to be done. I feel like I can breathe.
I like sitting at cafes drinking coffee and scoping and occasionally hitting the Internet. This can be wonderful on a beautiful, to be able to go out and proof outside.
I like sending in a completed job and cleaning off my desk.
I love sitting at a coffee shop before my depo starts and having a leisurely latte and surfing the web. Of course, this only happens when I'm all caught up and my last job is at the scopist and I'm waiting for it to come back. Good times.
Don't know about the States, but in Canada there are restrictions on claiming meals and entertainment as deductions. The maximum part you can claim "is 50% of either the amount you incur or an amount that is reasonable in the circumstances, whichever is less," according to the Canada Revenue Agency on page 17 of this booklet. It doesn't mention how one calculates "reasonable in the circumstances," though! :D
My mom has been doing mine and ALWAYS is reminding me to keep them. I sent them to her, lol. I believe it is ANY work expense as an independent contractor....will ask her details tho, ok??
Are you guys sure about the food? My accountant told me it was just if I was buying a client lunch for business reasons, not just buying lunch on the lunch break.
Yeah!!! If you freelance, you are an independent contractor....keep ALL receipts from food you get while working!! :) Mileage/supplies/etc keep those receipts and write them off!
