I just finished my last test on Tuesday...I have some interning hours left but I really don't know where to begin after that? Any tips or anything that could help...I feel lost...
Bumber ...! But thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I would think, though, that you would've approached them while you were still a student ... and get some interning hours in! :o)
Hi Alison,
I finished court reporting school last May. I called some agencies and found a couple that would let me sit in with their reporters. I would turn in the transcripts for them to check over, and after about 2 months, they started letting me take my own jobs, and I have been working since. Just call some agencies and tell them you are a new reporter, looking for work. Most of them want you to sit in and turn in transcripts so they can see your work. Then go from there. I just inquired about the Worker's Comp test last week, and found out that they have cancelled/postponed the test indefinitely, which sucks. It's really scary to start taking your own jobs. You have to push yourself to be more confident about working, because chances are you are more ready than you think!
