Thank you so much for the birthday wishes!!! I will be sure to check your blog out especially since I am getting ready to start the second half of theory and move into the 120/140/160 speed. I am very excited
Thanks for the b/d wishes! That is very nice of you.
About your carpal tunnel, I've been a CSR for 20 plus years and do not have carpal tunnel. But I have had some problems with my spine and discs, so be sure to remember to have good posture while sitting in those desk chairs.
Thanks Christine for comment! Yeah, you can do it. Don't give up...Court Reporting school is not easy...I don't care what anyone says. I respect Court Reporters so much for who they are and what they do.
Tied the knot on Sat. April 18, 2009. My wife and I have known each other for over 10 years, but officially together for 8 years. Our wedding commemorates our 8th year anniversary. Yeah...we're both Nintendo Nerds and Super Mario Bros. is our favorite video game character. And we wanted our cake to be different...and personal, you know? Hahaha.
Family in the Philippines are good. Most are here stateside, but i still have a few over there. Some were affected, some were not. I've been praying for their safety and well-being ever since I heard the bad news.
I'm glad your legal office is using us. We have some of the hardest workers in the industry. When you finish CR school, feel free to reach out to me. I'll refer you to our SoCal Offices. They'll be sure to take care of you.
Thanks again! GOOD LUCK and KEEP IT UP! You can do it...
Oh, thanks for my greetings!!! Wow...how cool..I got birthday greetings on this site too...way cool! I'm so touched.....Cute name Steno Nerd...silly!!
Hope lots of work comes all our ways..huh!
Fondly,
Vita Maria
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes!
Yeah, I need to get working towards that RMR. It's just been so, so long since I've studied, and I really haven't had time to do so this year.
Keep at it, you're almost there! Please don't hesitate to e-mail or call me if I can help you out with anything!
:)
Keep on cranking out the practices.....cuz even in real life...guess what...it's a new depo, new voices, speeds...it's like a test every single time you go out there....so be as ready as you can be and sitting pretty secure in your speed before going to the CSR...as my old teacher would say, write something for everything..even if it's a bit trashy..better to have something than a blank!!!! Good luck, and again, thanks for chatting me up!
Vita Maria
Hey Christine.. your website is awesome!! Congrats!! Welcome to the world of 190 goal speed... I downloaded your 1000 most frequently used words sheet from your website. Thanks.. what a great tool!! We need to know these in our sleep :)
How have you been? I haven't seen you in awhile and I'm hoping all is well with you! I know you aren't taking any academics, but I wanted to let you know that we have a speaker coming this Tuesday, October 13. Jonnell Agnew from Pasadena will be our speaker. Don't know if you have already heard her speak, if not, come by and sit in on the class! Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the birthday wishes! In between my years of reporting and scoping I've taught/dictated at a couple of reporting schools here in Kansas. It sounds like you've got the right attitude to get through school. It's definitely lots of hard work and practice. Best of luck!!
Earl,
I would be glad to talk to you. Our agency has certain guidlines and ethics that we must adhere to concerning our profession, but I have no problem discussing how you operate your business from one business owner to another.

Hi Christine,
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes - I've been remiss in not saying thanks before now, but haven't spent much time on CSRnation lately, but that's about to change :)
Michelle
Thanks for accepting my invite and thanks for wishing us well. I'm staying in Mindanao, so the two successive typhoons that hit Metro Manila and the northern part of the Philippines was not much felt in my place.
My relatives, friends and former colleagues in Manila, however, were not spared. A good friend who is also a scopist narrated how she and her family had to immediately leave the house because the flood was alarmingly getting higher fast. She was not able to saving any belongings but for her CaseCat key.
What kind of shook us in Mindanao were the earthquakes. It wasn't deadly enough to cost lives, but our neighboring towns had reported of collapsed homes.
Anyway, so much for the depressing stuff. Despite the calamities, we are all just thankful for the support and the help extended by other nations and the Filipino communities abroad. Thank you all!
Yes, I do. I am going to Downey, and it is great! I actually came from South Coast College but got really expensive. I will look at your blog after getting my rest (and practice:)...have a great day!
Thanks for the good luck wishes on this accented speech transcript. It is a toughie. The topic is medical: probiotics, prebiotics, and irritable bowel syndrome. Man, I am so glad to be done with this job. LOL
OMG, Christine, I just checked out your photos and saw a map of Philippines. Some of our best friends are from Philippines.
My boyfriend plays pool professionally, and anybody who knows pocket billards is well aware that the Filipino players are the best in the world.
We are good friends with Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, Jose Parica, Santos, Ronnie Alcano, and Alex Pagulayan. In fact, Jose Parica and my boyfriend, who's from Califronia, used to travel together to various professional tournaments.
We have not been on the tournament trail in recent times, due to this ball-and-chain job of mine. I miss seeing all of those guys.
Do me a favor and send me a sample of your work to reidrobbins@aol.com. I will look them over and forward them on to my office manager. Doesn't matter what the job is; mainly want to make sure it will be readable (s). Locally, I would just try to look over the work as it was being done to make sure, but long distance makes that a challenge. I hope we have a long working relationship. You are doing all the right things to do well in reporting; both in developing your transcription skills and making contacts. I know you will do well.
Thanks SO MUCH for the Birthday wishes, I'm so sorry I haven't seen it until now, or your other comment. I'm at 140 wpm now, trying hard to move ahead. I'm starting a new job in a week closer to home, hoping to have more time to practice. I just attended my first CR conference here in NJ on Sunday, it was very enlightening. If you haven't gone to any CR conference yet, try to get to the next one near you. I tried out professional machines and learned about some of the realtime software, and most importantly met working CRs. Let's keep in touch as we progress!
Whoa, Christine! What a cake!
I should come out of hiding more often!
(Eyes rolling up, smiling.)
Okay, officially out of h. now.
But watch out, I may talk too much!
You all are incredibly warm. :-)
This was the best cyber-birthday!
Oh yes, lots of sun. There is a whole department at the supreme court and one a year ago we are doing realtime in criminal and civil courts. It is quite a challenge!
Checked out your blog. Very nice page. What theory are you? I'm Phoenix, but looking to incorporate another one into my writing.
I read your post from June about carpel tunnel. how are your hands? I had trouble with mine a few times and came out of it ok with a little TLC. Cold/heat/cold/heat type thing.
Hi,
Thanks for the B-day Wishes! When I was in my senior year I wanted to go for Vet Tech, but then I found out about court reporting. There wasn't really jobs for Vet Tech around here and my mom works in a law office. I was really interested in it. It's not an ordinary job, and I like the flexible schedule and the interesting cases I could get. I'm a hands on person, so I hope this will be my job for life! Also can't forget about the money!!! I will have to check out your blog for sure! I know I will be hitting some walls pretty soon with speed, it's getting kind of stressful!
Thanks for the birthday wishes, and the card, Christine. I've actually visited your blog a few times, saw you on Depoman. Thanks for all the support, it means so much. I love steno, even though some days I just want to SCREAM!!! I will make it there, I know I will, especially with so much encouragement and positive vibes from everyone on these forums.
Hi Christine,
Downey is a great school. Cindy is awesome and you will meet so many friendly people there. I still think of my days at Downey on a daily basis. I usually have a smile on my face when I do.:) What speed will you be at when you make the transfer? Great choice.!
Thanks Christine for the birthday wish. I checked out your blog @stenonerd.com, it's awesome!! You have so much inspiring information on there. Congratulations on passing your 180's--WAY TO GO!! Keep going and I think that steno.nerd.com is great for students to check out. Thanks, Chrisitne
I am waaaaaaaaay late with my response, so I apologize! It has been a crazy month!
I love the LightSpeed! It has a completely different feel, so there were a lot of tears shed at first. But, on a positive note, I took the RPR two weeks after getting my LS and passed the last portion I needed, the Q&A. :) Depoman.com saved me and helped out a TON with all of the configurations. I bought a refurbished one for half the price and just got black because I wanted it to match my outfits! :) They are actually coming out with a new one soon! It is going to have audio, a touch screen, and multiple backups. I am really excited for that one!
If you have any other questions, just let me know! I hope school is going great! :)
