Hi all. I'm brand new to scoping. I've been transcribing legal court proceedings for five years now, and wanted to try something new. Are there any court reporters out there who may be willing to work with me on a training basis? Please email me at EileenD820@gmail.com. It would be much appreciated.

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 10 - and too late I'm wondering - can Eclipse files written on the laptop be brought into my desktop with Windows 7????
Thank you!

I'm trying to have a friend proof for me. The problem is I am on Case Cat and she is on Eclipse. I converted the file to an RTF file and my friend hasn't been able to import the job into Eclipse. We are told this should be easy, but when she imports and opens the file it's blank???
Does anyone know the steps to importing a file into Eclipse that was created from another software?

Greetings all,
I'm reaching out for advice and help.
As a new scopist I'm caught in the experience snare: how to gain experience when most every ad is looking for scopists with at least one and usually many more years of experience.
I know all of you followed many different…

I am being offered a job, as a court reporter, taking down multiple interviews with individuals concerning Australia and trading in Asia. It is teleconferenced, paid for by the proposing company. Any input as to how much a court reporter would charge or how you would charge, is a better way to put it, for a job like this? It is estimated to be between 35 to 50 hours of interview. I would appreciate any input.

This week has been National Court Reporting and Captioning Week. The more I learn about court reporting and get to know verbatim reporters, the more impressed I am with these professionals.
The creed is from retired court reporter Bill Parsons, who graciously shared this with the court reporting world and has…

Call me weird, but I love the beauty of a diagram showing how all the parts of speech work together. This diagram of the Preamble to the Constitution is a work of art.…

Has anyone had anxiety where once those above words are said for NCRA testing and your fingers are all over the place and/or even shaky to the point you can't type? Do you have tips or suggestions to overcome this?

The King James Version of the Bible has had an immense effect on the English language. C.S. Lewis called it “a treasure-house of English prose.” It dispersed many new words and phrases into our vocabulary like “Land of Nod” and “the powers that be.”
This translation has not only influenced our language but also our literature and art. …

While English has a reputation for being a lawless thug of a language, there are indeed rules that govern it. Because English is, in the phrasing of John McWhorter, our magnificent bastard tongue, they can have…

Over the course of my many years reporting, I have had some pretty crazy things happen. I thought it would be fun to share some of our stories. Many years ago I took a depo which was very demanding, realtime, tech problems, the works. I was able to troubleshoot and I must say did an outstanding job as the material was highly technical as well!!!!! When going around the room taking lunch orders, the witness who was an Indian chemist ordered a vegetarian lunch. As I had renounced meat for…
