Welcome to CSR Nation
Anyone heard this? I'm trying to find a moment to call someone at LiveNote and see if this is true. That would be so great, if it's possible.Continue

Comment by Kelley Nader on February 21, 2012 at 8:42 Stenocast told me to review my manual, too, but they didn't give me one!
Comment by Jenny L. Griffin, CM, CSR, CRR on February 21, 2012 at 8:34 Have you red the manual? You can download it here. Also look at the frequently asked questions:

I’m using Eclipse and Bridge with the RED, but the feed is not refreshing.
Refreshing is a function of your CAT software not the StenoCast RED. The RED (Refresh Enabled Device) allows refreshed transcripts to be sent to a client computer.
I don't know anything about CC and Stenocast, but I do have two Stenocast blue dongles which I use if I'm outputting to CaseviewNet or a viewing program that won't refresh with Eclipse. (I've only tested them. I don't ever want to do that because I edit too much while writing!)
Comment by Kelley Nader on February 21, 2012 at 8:21 Thanks, Jenny. I'm on Catalyst so that's where the confusion was. So do you need the Stenocast in order to refresh with Bridge? I'm understanding that Stenocast, no matter what, can't refresh with Stenograph Catalyst...but since I ordered Stenocast in October and delivery finally in January, and bugs still not worked out, I have no clue of any of the benefits.

Comment by Jenny L. Griffin, CM, CSR, CRR on February 21, 2012 at 7:58 Bridge is a free viewing program created by Advantage Software. If you use Eclipse, edits you make while on the job will show up on the Bridge program in front of the attorney or judge. That's called refreshing. So if I say that my RT macro didn't refresh on Bridge, it means that only my Eclipse transcript reflects the edit I made, and that means something has to be done to make it refresh so the attorney sees it as well.
Comment by Kelley Nader on February 21, 2012 at 2:09 Is Bridge anything to do with Stenocast? Just getting confused. I haven't got my Stenocast up and running yet.
Comment by Kelli Combs (admin) on February 20, 2012 at 19:49 I've loved the Stenocast concept, paid $1100 for the system and still I'm using cables. Stenocast hasn't been able to help me. After all, they have my money so no real reason to try. I love the concept of the system but I've had nothing but trouble. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm constantly holding my breath. At least with the cables, I never have a problem.
Comment by Kelli Combs (admin) on February 20, 2012 at 19:47 Stenocast is very good at pointing the finger at someone else other than themselves. I've experienced that a ton with them. No surprise here.
Comment by Jenny L. Griffin, CM, CSR, CRR on February 12, 2012 at 18:39 I haven't experienced anything like that, and I edit quite a bit with my RT macros from my writer. I am on Windows 7, though. How frustrating for you!
Comment by Quyen N. Do on February 12, 2012 at 18:19 Thx, Jenny. Have you had any problems with your laptop buffering/lagging/hanging when editing on your laptop/writer while in a RT job? Happens to me a lot, to the point where I'm afraid to make any edits. :(
StenoCast says it's Eclipse. Eclipse says it's my laptop or StenoCast. I'm on Vista. Is it Vista? I haven't had any problems with Vista otherwise.
