I have always used cables for realtime. I have two loaner computers that I always seem to be using and haven't hooked up to an attorney's computer in I can't remember how long. I use CaseView and…Continue

Anyone heard this? I'm trying to find a moment to call someone at LiveNote and see if this is true. That would be so great, if it's possible.Continue

I shipped the EZ Send back to Stenocast for the upgrade. Can anyone tell me how it is working with Eclipse now? I heard some reporters were still having trouble even after sending it back in for an upgrade. Anything new?
I bought a StenoCast Edge for $1,200. Nothing but problems. Back to cables because now it doesn't even work. They said if I wanted to pay to have it shipped to them for a "fee" they might be able to see what is wrong with it. Other than the Edge is discontinued and they no longer make them. Very frustrated with the entire StenoCast experience. They said it might be software, might be this, might be that. I'm starting to think it's them.
Thanks for all the info.
It may depend on the version of the blue receiver as to whether there's a straight trade. I would call Stenocast and find out.
StenoCast will let you trade in the blue keys for red keys (or reprogram them). I THINK I remember StenoCast telling me there is no charge/fee to do that, but I'm not 100% certain on that.
I have a Stenocast red box and 5 blue receivers. They work fine with Eclipse and Bridge, but don't refresh. I wasn't ready to give up the blues at the time because everyone was using Livenote. I'm finding in the last couple years most of the attorneys no longer bring their own laptop and want me to furnish them, and I use Bridge on my loaner laptops, so I'm going to trade a couple of my blue receivers in for the reds.
The blues work with Bridge, but in Bridge you have to change the receive setting to Caseview/2400 and output in Eclipse set to the same thing. The red and blue dongles use different com port numbers as well, so you have to change that setting too. It works fine, though, just no refresh, same as if a reporter on CaseCatalyst wanted to output to Bridge.
Thanks, Laura. Sorry I wasn't clear in my comment. I didn't mean to imply the blues won't work with Eclipse. I should have clarified and said they work with Eclipse, but don't refresh. However, I didn't know the blue would work with Bridge, but still not refresh. I thought the blue would only work with LiveNote.
The blue dongles will work fine with Eclipse, but as Quyen said, they won't refresh your edits on the attorney screens. You can still use them with Bridge, and at least for now they're what you need to connect to LiveNote, CaseView, and Summation if you ever use any of those programs. The baud rate for the blue dongles is 2400, so you just make sure your output and receive rate are set for that.
You can buy red dongles from StenoCast that pair with the transmitter you buy. You just call them and give them the number off the back. They cost $100 each.
I really like my StenoCast RED and use it all the time.
