Good morning, Reporters!  If you are using a Passport Touch writer or have in the past or are considering purchasing one, please join our group on Facebook called "Passport Touch Writers Group - Uncensored."  This site was created to offer support among fellow reporters using the PPT, to help troubleshoot issues they might be having, and to be able share your thoughts regarding the machine, positive or negative.  Other sites have blocked reporters for reaching out.  If you are no longer using the machine for whatever reason, please also join the Facebook site.  We'd like to hear from you.   Thank you!

Busy? Overwhelmed? Exhausted? Need five extra minutes to maintain your sanity? I can help!

Instead of taking the time to proofread your transcripts yourself, send them to me. I will go over them, fact checking dates and addresses, correcting punctuation for readability, and catching those sneaky typos that slip by. When you give your transcript to me, I'm a set of fresh eyes. I'll do my best to make sure you have a clean, accurate transcript. I work by marking on PDF. Audio is available upon request at a different rate.

For references I use:

  • Lillian Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters
  • Bad Grammar, Good Punctuation by Margie Wakeman Wells
  • Gregg's Reference Manual
  • The best punctuation book, period. by June Casagrande
  • The Merriam-Webster Dictionary
  • Various Internet sources (e.g. drugs.com, usacourts.gov, etc)

And most importantly:

  • Your preferences.

I will take your preferences into account when proofreading. Like the Oxford comma? Great! Hate it? Ok, that's fine too. I'm here to help YOU.

Please don't hesitate to e-mail me with any jobs, questions, or just to chat! Please visit my website here for more information or e-mail me at natalie@tobrighteststars.com.

oh, and I am also looking for full audio proofers!  email me at stenotype1@me.com!

I am looking for 2-3 scopists, preferably court reporters, who are on Case Catalyst and who will tag team realtime/rough/dailies, as well as regular work.  I currently have a scopist on Eclipse, but unfortunately, we can't seem to import/export files unless we do RTFs... which that makes me lose the steno and audio synced in CC.  He has really quick turnaround and is awesome!  If you know of a way that I can fix our problems, I sure would appreciate your advice.  If you are an Eclipse user, I can highly recommend him!  If you are interested, please email me at stenotype1@me.com.

You've got a lot to get done and (of course) not enough time to do it all. Something's gotta give. What are you going to sacrifice to get your work done? Family time? Exercise? Sleep? Sanity?

Life doesn't have to be that way. You can do it all without giving up what's important to you.

Take back your free time -- hire a proofreader.

  • No extra charge for weekend/holiday work
  • Will proof to full or partial audio
  • Wicked fast communication -- I'm serious!

Visit me at starlighteditorial.com, or chat me up at chelsea@starlighteditorial.com.

I am a very experienced Eclipse scopist looking for a court reporter with whom to team up full-time, part-time and/or overflow.  I have experience in criminal and civil trials, depositions, town hall meetings, hearings, arbitration, utility board meetings and more.

My background is in nursing, which I did for many years.  I then moved into medical transcription, and seven years ago went to scoping school and have been scoping since.  Anyway, long story short, I have strong medical skills, am multilingual and am good with accents of many types.

For more information please contact me at genesisscoping@comcast.net or 541-653-8918.

I am on CC.  Does anyone know how to import an Eclipse file into CC?  I tried the Eclipse import option, and it doesn't work.  I've also tried importing the RTF, but the margins are all off once I apply my format.  TIA!
