As a skilled, hardworking CR, you are certainly capable of proofreading your own transcripts, right? But is that really the best way to run your business? Few people realize the many, varied tasks involved in providing the level of service and excellent final product your clients deserve when your name and reputation are on the line. Your proofreader knows!

As a skilled, hardworking proofreader, I am your partner in the art of producing polished legal transcripts. I’m your second pair of eyes (fresh eyes!) to catch slippery errors like homonyms (discrete/discreet, affect/effect), missing words, misspelled names, transpositions, and punctuation that can change the entire meaning of an apparently innocuous phrase (Let’s eat Gramma!). I check names and references to ensure they are correct and do light research to ensure continuity and context.

I want to add one CR to my schedule, hopefully for a long-term partnership. I’d like the opportunity to put my experience to work for you. I proof to your preferences supported by my strong foundation in grammar and punctuation backed up by Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters, The Gregg Reference Manual, and Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation by Margie Wakeman Wells. My preferred method for proofreading is to receive your PDF file, which I will annotate, including as much explanation and references to specific rules as you prefer, and then return only the annotated pages to you as a PDF.

If you want a dedicated transcript proofreader at the ready on your schedule, I'm your girl! For more information, my rates and information sheet and contact information for recent/current client references, please email me at vjenkinspotm@gmail.com.

I’m a full-time proofreader committed to hunting errors and returning excellence.

I’m available for one-off jobs, but I’m really hoping to add one or two reporters to my regular clientele. I love being part of a team, and I find that long-term professional relationships yield better transcripts and make for a smoother workflow in the long run. If you agree, why don’t you send me a message?

Check out my website, PM me, or e-mail me for more information about my process, rates, or references.

Hey, guys!  I'm a proofreader/editor with lots of experience proofing to audio.  Your preferred format is my preferred format: Word, txt, PDF, etc.  I would love to get a chance to work with an awesome, competent, and (possibly) overwhelmed CR.  I don't charge weekend surcharges, and I am great in a pinch.  Ping me for a sample of my work, or send me a transcript and I'll proof the first 20 pages for free to see if we're a good fit.

Peruse my website for more info: brittanireads.com.

Proofreader looking for court reporter to build a long-term partnership.

I am known to be reliable, fun, and eager to please. My decade of proofreading experience applied to your work will make you look great; you can relax knowing I've never missed a deadline. I've worked in a variety of professions that have trained me surprisingly well for the spoken word.

I rely on Margie Wakeman Wells to guide us through confusion and trained on the principles of Morson's and The Gregg Reference Manual, and I'm also happy to learn your personal style. I have outstanding references. People know I'm a sterling addition to the team.

Let's see if we should work together!

Transcript Hound Proofreading: sniffing out errors, one transcript at a time!

Comment by Vincent Prewitt on July 1, 2016 at 15:06

Hello all. I'm Vincent Prewitt, transcript proofreader. I have an extensive amount of experience when it comes to transcripts, both as a transcriptionist and a proofreader. I have been trained on the principles of Morson's and The Gregg Reference Manual, but I will be more than happy to cater to your preferences. My normal turnaround time is two business days, but I do offer one-day or same-day turnaround if need be.

I proofread with or without audio. For without audio, I will send you the corrections in either an annotated PDF or in a DOC or RTF file using track changes in Microsoft Word. For with audio, it would just be the latter. I would also need an MP3 or WAV file that I can play back in Express Scribe (preferred) or FTR Player if you need me to proofread with audio.

I am a hard worker, very reliable, and very dependable, and I will make sure that your work is of the utmost accuracy. I also have references from reporters that have been very happy with my services. If you are interested, please e-mail me at vinceproofs@gmail.com for any questions you have about rates, TAT, or other general questions about my work. I am freed up completely and available to take work right now. As of July 2016, I now do work on weekends at no extra charge!

Thank you so much in advance!

I am a professional and reliable transcript proofreader for court reporters. Reading each and every word, and all of the spaces in between, I spot those little errors that can be easily missed. With thousands of pages of experience, I can provide you with reassurance that your final submission is clean, accurate, and reads smoothly.

I work day-to-day with the Gregg Reference Manual and Merriam-Webster, and my training was based on the guides of Lillian Morson and Margie Wakeman Wells; however my priority is to work with you to understand and deliver your proofreading preferences.

Please contact me or take a look at my website for more information.

I look forward to working with you.
