Anyway, no, I'm not really working; I do some transcription work and scoping for a friend (digitalCAT), but otherwise, no.
On the Geek Squad, if they can get your computer up and running and keep it under the price for a new laptop, then that is great! Otherwise, you might want to make a trip to Seattle and visit the two RePC stores to see if you can buy that same model of computer (hopefully you still have the system disks that came with your old one!). I recently picked up a refurbished IBM Thinkpad there for $140. If neither store has what you're looking for, tell the guy what you need, and give him your contact info. He'll call you when he gets one in.
