I'm still pinching myself to see if I'm awake, but I just got engaged to a local girl here in Izhevsk! We met on an int'l date site a few months back and corresponded heavily throughout this period, exchanging pictures and even video. After we met we both realized that we were indeed a perfect match. I literally pushed everything aside to make this trip. I'm out here in West/Central Russia getting calls from lawyers asking me to vid the med mal deps! I discovered one sure fire way to really boost your business: leave the country!

Thanks for the call, Elise. I was on the steps of the Russian consulate in NY, waiting to get into the visa section when I received your call. I'll be out of the country until August 30th and then I'll be available full time.

Best wishes,

Howard

Hi,

Yes, it is possible for the scopist to get the sound in real time. The changes that the scopist makes would not show up on the attorneys' computers, but they will show up on the reporter's computer. I have never actually done remote realtime scoping, but being a computer professional, I understand how remote scoping works.

For example, a reporter can't just walk into an attorney's office and set up for real time. Arrangements would have to be made in advance for the reporter or a tech to go in there and set things up. Remote scoping is usually done by reporters who work with large reporting firms that are set up for that sort of thing. Hope this helps.

Hi Elise,

Remote scoping is when I am getting a live steno feed from the reporter.

If you are looking for really good reporting software, I highly recommend Eclipse. It is expensive but well worth it. And I don't work for Eclipse. But as a computer professional and retired court reporter who has used other court reporting software, I am in awe of Jeremy (chief programmer for Eclipse) and his software. It's the best!! Also, since you are a realtime writer, you will find lots of really good scopists who are using Eclipse.

Good luck!!

Elise, you have joined the scopist group.. thats great.
you now need to replace the StenoCat32; with StenoCat so you can show up in search results.
thats it, your done.

next: you just have to wait for job offers... I also suggest you advertise in the classified section once a week.
thanks

I see you are a CR and a scopist, Elise, and we are not on the same software. Were you looking to refer someone that is on CC or someone to help you out?

in the "software" question in your profile must be answered like this "StenoCat" and not "StenoCat32;" so our search engine can find you.
once changed you will start appearing.
thanks
