No, you will get an email blast of job offers. Agencies will leave their contact info in the email and you contact them directly.
Reporters pay money to be in this group to get these email blasts of work, not to get email blasts from other reporters wanting work. I'm sure if you were on the other end and receiving the soliciting of the reporters instead of you getting work, you'd want your money back.
Ephraim, did you notice in the New York Cover Depo group, the Number 1 Rule is "DO NOT ADVERTISE YOURSELF TO THE GROUP"??? You just let tons of reporters know you're available and now I'm going to get tons of complaints.
I just wish people would pay attention.
