Greetings all,

I'm reaching out for advice and help.

As a new scopist I'm caught in the experience snare: how to gain experience when most every ad is looking for scopists with at least one and usually many more years of experience.

I know all of you followed many different paths. For those of you who began as I have coming from other professions/jobs and went the training route which for me was BeST Scoping Techniques and CSR Tech Ed Just for Scopists, how did you break in and gain experience on your way to becoming established in the profession?

Any and all suggestions and offers of help are deeply appreciated.

Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much).

Aloha,

Elise

I've trained the last two scopists I have from scratch.  Both of them never owned the software or took any classes.  You just have to find someone with enough patience to work with you.  For my main scopist, it took her a good 5 years to be good.

Maybe you can find some newer reporters that are willing to work with you.  I do have to admit, it's a lot more work working with a new scopist than a seasoned one, a whole lot more work.
