okay:) One last question for tonight... lol.

I wanted opinions on how important or valuable it is to be a member of NCRA, if it is at all. I have not done it only because of the amount of money everything costs; the dues and then to take the RPR and everything like that. I have an AAS in Court Reporting and graduated with a 3.76. Isn't that enough? I was told I was not going to make more money either if I am certified, but yet they do want me to take the RPR. And now I've got the itch to take the RPR just to prove to myself, I guess, that I can pass it and become certified.

What do you all think, is it really worth it? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks for the info!!

Erica,
The NY State exam is cheaper and good to get experience on. I'm taking it in April!! :0 They had registration from Nov-Jan or something. $30 to take that one. Contact me next year and I'll pass the info along, as I will try again next year too, lol. I can't afford NCRA, but will join back up once I start making more again. I had been a member thru school and my first few years working, as it was cheaper, lol.
