Help me find a reputable Online school/program for Court Reporting

My school is no longer offering the court reporting program as of Fall '09 and I need an online school/course asap. I am currently at 100 wpm and have learned Sten Ed theory. does anyone have any suggestions for online schools/programs, etc. so I can continue my studies?

Does anyone have anything to tell me about court reporting at home or simply steno? i just finished theory and my teacher had to stop teaching. college prices are so prohibitive and I am looking at these 2 online programs. I would appreciate any comments thanks so much, Tanya

Hi, Latonya: Just my 2 cents -- I have been a court reporter instructor for approximately 30 years. I am a court reporter and my daughter is a reporter. I have worked for the College of Court Reporting for just about a year now, and they are the nicest people. I know you have a choice, but I want you to know that these are really nice people -- along with having a great program. I teach Captioning and Procedures for them and they are the greatest!!!

Sincerely,
Maggie Cline

I was in a brick and mortar school, but I switched to doing school at home and I am at SimplySteno.com. You have to have you theory before starting, he doesn't teach theory, but I asked several of his students before signing up and I like it so far. It's not accredited or NCRA approved, but he just took the WKT test from NCRA and passed. He does speed building, grammar, and medical terminology.

I'm currently attending Bryan College and I absolutely love it. The staff is awesome and the online program with the technology is amazing! www.bryancollege.edu

I found a school Stark State College of Technology--in Ohio, I will be attending this summer...three semesters and I will be done. If anyone has any feedback...please share. Thanks for all of your input.

Check out TextStream Instistute. It is run and taught by a seasoned court reporter/closed captioner. All the teachers are or were certified court reporters too.
The program is also NCRA approved. Good luck!

I would recommend the College of Court Reporting (Hobart, Indiana)... They have an excellent online program that is NCRA approved. You can even even watch a sample class from any level and they have a mentor program. The other option is CRAH.com - Court Reporting at Home. I've heard great things about that program. Good luck
