Rhoda, thanks for the congrats! I also took the RPR on Saturday and felt good about it.

I did get my Gemini. Here's my story and some pics of the modified vowel keys. http://www.csrnation.com/forum/topics/gemini-revolution-grand-first

Unfortunately, I waited until the night before to try hooking my Gemini up without the BT. Scrambled around looking for a mini usb cable and it ended up being bad. Went to Target but they only had an adapter style that made it hit the bracket.. so I had to use my 8000. WOW did it feel strange for the first five minutes or so. After about an hour practicing and then the tests, my wrist hurt! I just transcribed 8 hours of tape on my Gemini and it doesn't hurt at all! I LOVE it!

(edited to fix a typo in your name!)

I'm disappointed you couldn't tell a difference. It's so hard to describe a particular touch. I may try to shorten up my stroke a bit today since I have to adjust that -T. How did your hearing go? Are you happy with your sensitivities?

Rhoda, I hope all went well last night. My final T wasn't sensitive enough, darn it! I had to change a few no's to not's! I just now noticed that you don't have the wide left side asterisk key. Do you only use the right hand *? I use both. I put a call into depobook to make sure they can give me the correct pads.

Hey, Rho:) I know what you mean by getting busier! I am super psyched about it though!!!!!! I would LOVE to get together very soon!! I go to SYR quite often, so feel free to give me a call or email me and let me know the next few possible times you could be free, then I'll check it against mine and we WILL figure this out;)

I'm so glad you finally found them. I hope you do a little practice before you take that job to make sure you like it turned so far. I really do. Makes all the difference for me. Your job tomorrow sounds intense. I hope your translation turns out absolutely perfectly, and it was easy to stroke!

I apologize profusely! You have to take the top off to see them!!! I'm so, so sorry I didn't make that clear in my first post. I just went down and looked at mine - I took a long nap and now am sitting on the deck. It's still so warm out and 86 in the house! Please forgive me and take the tops off when you next have an opportunity!

Rhoda, This is RID/KLUS! They're not inside at all. They're outside, on the back in the middle of each pod above the black thing the pod spins on. They look like they're standing up maybe. My Grand is packed away downstairs. I think they're maybe an inch of stuff above them. In other words, they're down an inch or so from the top line of the Grand itself. Can you turn what you found? They won't fall out.

I don't have a camera, but they don't really look like regular screws. Do you see any small silver thing kind of suspended above the black area? Put the smallest screwdriver in there and turn. It's a silver something that the tiny screwdriver that we change the key sensitivities with fits into. What a convoluted sentence! Let me know when you figure it out.

Yes, there are calls I can make. I also want to say I can do realtime now as I have the Stenocast system. From what I hear, it's slow all over. Truthfully, I'm afraid of having too much work for my elbows these days. So I'm glad and sad I don't have enough work. We'll see how my experts go next week. I'm bummed at the moment as I can't get my BT to work with the Grand. I'll load in Jason's BT now. I was planning on doing that two weeks ago anyway. Yes, take some nice walks with your cutie! Sounds great!

Wow! So much work!!! Remember to stretch! You need to schedule a massage instead of picking up another book for a while, I'm thinking! I'm very envious of your work right now. Great news!

I just requested the book you recommended! I am next on the list, so by the time I get it, I should be finished with The Elegance of the Hedgehog. I am still tweaking the grand, and I am about to start again today on it. I am really happy that I turned those back screws all the way, as the stroke is really, really easy. The only problem with it is I am stacking a bit. On my last job of 35 pages, I probably stacked 10 times. That is way too many for me! I also have a problem with the iPAQ software, but Jason is working on that. Are you still writing with it as is? Haven't made many adjustments yet? How is your stacking these days?

Can you tell I have too much time on my hands right now? I mailed out my last job yesterday as work has been so, so slow. Next week should pick up, and it better!

I'm taking only my second depo today on my real Grand. This weekend I was able to eliminate virtually all stacking, and I adjusted those two force screws - one on each pod in the back. I turned them all the way to the right - I think - so the stroke is really, really soft and easy. Then I tweaked a few keys. I'll report back on how I do today, but I wondered if you had adjusted those screws on the back. They're right above the black rod the pods rotate on, and they don't look like they do anything - but they do! Hope you're doing great!

Well, if you're pictures show anything, it's that you'll do great! From getting married last year, I know how hard it is to find a great photographer. They all want tons of money, but only a very few can take awesome pictures. I, myself, like telling a story with pictures and the artistic side with the odd angles, not just the "sit and pose" pictures. I will HAVE to post some of my other pictures from my wedding. I think you will really like them!

Good luck!

Hi Rhoda,
Wow, I love your page. Thanks for the info. I tend to second guess myself also, and will take your knowledge to heart when I go. Good luck to you.

Rhoda, I love that picture of your office you posted. The most necessary things in the room, in my opinion: the books and the latte!

I can't believe you have not adjusted it yet, and that it is writing so well for you straight out of the box. I am very jealous. I just want to warn you that if you make it shorter, it may feel a bit harder for you to stroke. I shortened the stroke of the loaner when I first got it, and I ended up going back to a longer yet "easier" stroke. Maybe it's psychological, and maybe I will change it shorter later, but this feels much easier to write with. Also, when it was shorter, there was more stacking because the sensitivity window is shorter. Jason will have to explain that to you. It is a bit complicated. Please let me know how you like it, though.
