I found out this morning I passed my last Q&A test at 200. I am so excited to start working at 225 for my class tomorrow! (I need to remember I said that when I come back from class tomorrow after getting my butt kicked!) I really think my interning has helped a great deal, and am glad I have the opportunity to go out once a week to shadow court reporters. It has really bumped my speed up! Woo!
You give me great hope that I will reach that goal some day, I'm new, just finished theory and getting started on 60 - it's very encouraging to see so many people have come so far so quickly.
I became briefly discouraged after having completed the theory. Starting on drills, all the knowledge I had just attained seemed to drain from my brain, but practice is the key. I'm so glad this site is here, as a home study student it gives me the kind of support that's so hard to receive working on my own.
Thanks again! I got slammed at class tonight - it is incredible how much faster 225 sounds when you're used to testing at 200! The way your ear acclimates to the different speeds is amazing! I remember just a short time ago they sounded the same to me! I know that if I keep pounding away at faster speeds than I'm testing at, that I will get there quickly. Wish me luck! I hope to be done in just a few short months!
I got stuck in 200 a long time. You must be ready to get out there. Mark Kislingbury says to practice at much higher speeds than you are trying to attain and the speed you want will come easier. Keep on banging away on the keyboard, girl! Congrats!
