Hi,

I'm just reading through some posts and getting acclimated to the site and I can already see what a valuable resource it (and this group in particular) will be to me in my future endeavors as a new scopist. I am very happy to have the resource!

Debra,

I've been learning so much from these forums. I always go to the Eclipse CR-Net, the CompuServe forum, Depoman, the NCRA forum, and here. I save this one for last. Is it any wonder I'm always complaining about getting my work done???

Do you use hyperkeys? When I finish up my depo, I want to post more about the joys of hyperkeys. It has recently come to my attention that not everyone on Eclipse uses them!!!
Debra,

After you get Eclipse set up, make sure you read this post. Eclipse will come with its own tutorial:

In my opinion, this is the best way to learn hyperkeys.
Thanks, again, Jenny. I will definitely do this because, as much as I love being able to work from home and all, sitting in front of this computer gets old after a while! Like right about now, in fact. I've been sitting here most of the day and it's time to bid a good day/night to it.

Night! Debra (I'm in LA and a couple of hours ahead of you.)
Jenny - I see how great the 4th Tutor tutorials are! I just found them - I was thinking there would be something saying 4th Tutor on the Eclipse main screen. So, it's good that you were specific in the above post about exactly"how" to get there. Anyway, I will start going through the lessons tomorrow. I've had my full system about a week or so now and can already edit and get around to scope a depo - just have to learn all the tools better now which, I agree, 4th Tutor looks like it will do an excellent job. Thanks for the recommendation to do this.
How great you actually will get into the 4th Tutor! You will learn so much. And for anyone out there still not using hyperkeys - and you know who you are - it's so easy to learn them from your own personal tutor. You can learn at your own pace whenever you make a bit of time for it. Put the time in now, and speed up your editing for the rest of your career. Doesn't that make sense? I think so.
And I will definitely use hyperkeys. I'm all about speeding up the process. Thanks for the pointers!
P.S. I hope everyone reading this knows that I am aware that I tend to use run on sentences in writing in forums. And, I meant to put the word hyperkeys (below) in parentheses!

It's sort of strange to have to be so careful with social writing like this. I mean, in most forums I have the most gramatically correct statements as well as the best spelling! But, considering there will be a lot of court reporters reading posts in this forum and the profession we are both in, I think I should get used to it, huh?
