How do you know you're ready for the CSR?

I finally passed qualifiers last week, and I don't know whether or not I'll be ready to take the CSR in June. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to tell whether or not you're ready.

I took the RPR in 1981 (I think I was 23). Our instructor at Lansing Community College - everyone called her Wanda the Witch. She knew I had signed up to take the test. Others had accused me (all the last year) of cheating.

Wanda talked to me the week before the test. She said she knew she was tough, disliked, and she brought up the others calling her Wanda the Witch. I just looked at her. She said, "Of course, I know that."

Wanda's instruction: Eat breakfast, not too heavy. Wear something comforable, take a sweater. Leave so you have plenty of time. When you get there, stay by yourself. You are not there to socialize. Get there, stay by yourself, do not listen to the other girls chatting because you want your mind to be clear. When you start the test, do not look at the others. Pick a spot on the floor and make sure that's all you see.

I followed her instructions. I still can remember the mindset I was in in writing - hear, write, hear, write ---.

Before that test, all the young pretty girls were on their young pretty girl behavior, chatting with each other, being sure to get in their social princess time. When the machine part was over, I sat there for a minute thinking, I did it!! I did it!! I had to keep my composure.

They told us if we were staying to transcribe to sit there and wait for the others to leave. I sat there and watched all those young pretty girls, who had chatted away the hour before the test LEAVING!! Some looked awful. Some were crying up a storm.

When I transcribed, I opened the first flap, read through, type, next flap, read through, type.

When you get there, keep to yourself. That's not the time or place for social time. You need your mind free and clear. Pick that spot on the floor - so you don't see what everyone else is doing.
