I'm in Riverside, and I'm trying to find out whether or not I can rely on the train to get to the OAH office in Los Angeles and possibly San Diego. To be more specific, I'm trying to confirm I can actually count on getting there reasonably close to the scheduled arrival time. I've heard some reporters do it regularly.
I'm trying to find a way to be a team player and commute wherever I'm needed without running my car into the ground if possible.
Thanks for your time.

I go to Tri-Community, and I went back to full-time status last year. Before then I only went to school very, very part-time (I put work ahead of school then... now I wish I hadn't!). I'm at 160 wpm with one test needed to get to 180 wpm. I go back to school on Tuesday.
It's super hard to find/make the time to practice since I also work 26 hours at a law office, freelance on the side as a transcriptionist, and have a boyfriend, family, friends, and church privileges/obligations. But I really need to UP MY GAME if I really want to finish by next year! That's the goal!
Any tips on how/what to practice? Would love to get your input!
Also, what kind of work do you do now as a licensed reporter? When I finish, I want to be a broadcast captioner and either at a studio or work from home.
Thanks for the nice words about my boyfriend and me. One very big reason why I chose court reporting is their flexible schedule -- when we get married and start having kids, I want to stay home with them. So the plan is to work at night doing captioning from home. We'll see! :)
Thanks for replying so quickly... TTYL!
