I have just started using FOUR to be the word four spelled out and I'm using the number bar 4 for the numeral 4.

However, my numbers settings are set to spell out the words one through ten so, when I hit the number bar, I end up with four.

Any ideas how to work around this?

Check ignore written words and set your values to No Values.  But then you have to write out any words that you want written out, which for me is one through ten.  So use number bar for 11 and higher and use steno for one - ten (WUN, TWO, THRAOE, FOUR, FAOIVE, SIX, SE*F/EN or SEF or SE*F, AIGT, NAOIN, TEN

But be careful with this because if they save 1005 Windsor Court and you hit WUN THOU 5 Windsor Court, it's going to come up one thousand 5.  You have to use the number bar if you have ignore written numbers.  So you have to hit 1005.  I stroke WUN a lot because it's easier to me than the #1 number bar and I don't get misstrokes, but then it comes out wrong.  Ugh!  But I've tried all kinds of different ways for telling it to write out one through ten and it never works right, so the other that I told you earlier is the best option for me.

It will come up as 1,005 Windor Court, depending on how you have your 1 thousand stroke defined and what's in your metadictionary.   If you wrote WUN 0 0 5, then it would come out as one 005, but once you put the word thousand behind it, it will make the one into a thousands.  Same as hundred.  Of course, that all depends on how you write and have the hundreds and thousands defined.   But assuming you use the same stroke for the word "thousand" as you do when you want a number, such as 5,482, then the number conversion will convert it to 1,000.

Just realized that I use WUN for one and TWO for two, etc.....so I think ignoring written words and setting values to No Values will work just fine.

Also on that 1005 Windsor Court, my first reaction is to use the number bar 1, THOU, number bar 5....so I think it'll work just fine.

On the No Values thing, I have the Quantity thing checked......then is it under Write Out that I put No Values??????

correct to your last question

I would check ignore written numbers and under the Quantities section toward the bottom, make sure the first box says No Values.

thank you Christy and Sam

I may have a follow-up questions after I try this.

Thanks  Naola, Christy and Sam

My numbers never come out correctly.  I am going to follow your steps.  I was taught to use HUN and THOU.  So these settings should hopefully work for me.
