I know there have been discussions of this, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for.  I have had Dells and Fujitsu laptops.  Dell has always have the best playback audio volume and clarity in the past so I don't have to use headphones when editing.  But I just looked at the Dells at Micro Center and their audio doesn't seem too good.  My Fujitsu I take to jobs has good recording quality, but the playback speakers aren't too good.   I'm looking for a 15 inch edit laptop, good audio, doesn't have to be the fastest processor and doesn't need a huge hard drive or more than 3 megs of Ram.  Any suggestions?  So I'm looking for durability (long life) and good audio.
 Thanks!

Kerry, I bought my Samsung at Microcenter.  They have 12-month no interest financing too if you are interested.

I also took Janiiece's suggestion and bought her laptop she's talking about. However, the audio sounds better on my Dell after I transfer it from the Samsung.  I only write realtime on jobs to the Samsung and then transfer it to my Dell and the audio is amazing, but I have a great microphone, which makes all the difference.  You HAVE TO HAVE a great microphone to make all the difference in the world in this issue.

Kelli, which Dell do you have that you transfer it to?  The older Dells had great audio speakers on the laptop itself.

I can record my jobs really well with a great mic on my Fujitsu, but like to play back the audio without using headphones if I have good laptops speakers. Shoot, are you say the Samsung doesn't have as good audio speakers as the Dell?  What model and year Dell do you use?

Yeah, the Dell is my husband's old laptop before he got the iPad.  It's the Inspiron 1720 and it has killer speakers on that thing.  I don't need headphones.

Thanks for the info, Kelli.  Dell just doesn't make the Inspirons like they used to.

I have Asus netbooks I use to provide realtime to the attorneys.  I like them a lot.  I'm not running full CC on them.

Hi Kerri,

The model I have is just under a year old.  It's the Toshiba Satellite P745-S4217.   That has been replaced with this model:

Mine and this one have Harman/Kardon speakers, Dolby sound.

I actually have the laptop that Janet has and also the one that Janiece has.  I actually like the Samsung better.  I quit using the Toshiba; it got a little temperamental on me and would do weird things.  I'm just using the Toshiba as a backup at this point.
