I am an online student at CCR and am in 120/140 speed class and was wondering what it takes to be a scopist. I am looking for something to do to earn extra money.

Hi Sherry!

I wanted to suggest that you check out our website at www.scopeschool.com for information on what it takes to jump in to scoping. If you go to our "Reporter Info" menu, you'll see a page that talks about court reporting students and retired reporters who are looking at scoping. We provide online training for scopist and our course is broken down into sections so you can purchase only the training you need. We can talk with you and see what background you have and suggest what portions of the training would be most beneficial. I can also suggest some of our graduates to contact who had reporting experience prior to taking our training. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly at issadmit@montana.com.

Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for your quick response. I will check out your website this evening and will definitely get in touch with you. Thanks again for the wonderful information, and I look forward to speaking with you.
Hi Sherry,

Feel free to check out the information about scoping through my website: http://www.joyfulscoping.com/WIS.html

Scoping Made Affordable (through www.joyfulscoping.com) offers different options, including a refresher course
which is probably the right one for you to become a successful scopist. This course accounts for the fact that you
have previously been exposed to the stenographic language and then includes the rest of the training courses to
teach you to scope.

Sincerely,
Ms. Devon Roberts
