Advertisements in Scopist Group

I've been looking through the discussions and see that almost all of them are advertisements for scopists looking for work. I'm confused because this is a scopist forum. We don't give each other jobs, so why would we advertise here. I thought this group was for scopists to talk about jobs, past or present, and support and to socialize with each other. Am I wrong or not?

I think it's pretty clear on the top of the page and when you go to post a comment, both say, "No Advertisements."

Aren't we just supposed to place the advertisements on the classifieds page? Someone clue me in please.

Julie, I've been confused by this also. I think one person probably put in their ad here, and then others saw it and started posting here. I just sent an email to Monti (who seems to run these forums) asking him if he could contact the job posters here and move their ads to the appropriate places.

Like you, I'm looking for socialization and answers to questions, but don't want to have to read through all the appeals for scoping work.

I will put a big note that cant be missed.
advertising here is 100% pointless.

I will delete all advertisements and ask future advertisers to take it to the classifieds.

You're right, but every time I go to the Classifieds, it bounces me into categories...where is categories? I understand what you're saying, but let's get everything taken care of so we can respond to scoping inquiries, etc. Where can we post, and why did classifieds continually bounce us out? Help!
