I do A*T for @ and make it connect to the name before and the name after; i.e., lisaE@yahoo.com.

Love @ = YAT  Thanks!

FBI - F*EUB

Federal Bureau of Investigation - FAO*EUB

IRS - *EURS

Internal Revenue Service - AO*EURS

I don't hit R*R in that way often.  That's just part of the brief the way it's done for "Federal Bureau of Investigation."  That's not too common.

Janiece, I use AT for at and YAT for @.

Comment by Janet on September 6, 2012 at 16:51

I do FAOEUB too.  I use NA*EUM after acronyms to write out.

Your R*R stroke is interesting.  Do you use it in other ways?

One I thought I'd throw out there since I've encountered it a lot lately:

FBI = TPAO*EUB

Federal Bureau of Investigation = TPAO*EUB / R*R

How do you write the word "at" in steno?

How do you write the symbol "@" for when you are writing an email or Web Site address?

Thanks,

Janiece

Yeah, I can say I do that a lot myself.  In Eclipse Version 5 if you use Auto Brief, it pops up what you have in your dictionary, a brief for what you are writing out.  I'm always like, "Did I have that in my dictionary?  I didn't know that."

Comment by Ann Medis on August 13, 2012 at 14:14

Kelli, I didn't know they were there.  I'm mad at myself.  I found them, recognized how terrific they were, put them in my dictionary and promptly forgot all about them.

Ann, those are brilliant!  Thank you.  I could use all of those.  Forgot how many different ways there are to say the same thing.
